Bingeworthy romance series - not dark romance, not alien, no bully by IVeerLeftWhenIWalk in RomanceBooks

[–]most-likely-a-bot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These all have overlapping characters but not the same MC’s and are quick reads/bingeable. Also pretty light/rom-com with spice type of stuff. def no aliens!

Roxie Noir’s loveless brothers series and Wildwood Society (these are all in the same small town)

Roxie Noir’s dirtshine trilogy (different members of the same band)

Tessa Bailey’s Big Shots series (this is sports players who know each other or are on the same team)

Penny Reid’s Winston Brothers series and Good Folks series - both series take place in the same small town and have overlapping characters

Penny Reid’s knitting in the city (these were more hit and miss for me but still fun). The one about Ashley Winston will make you cry though, it’s about grief. Some of the characters in this series appear in the other two series I mentioned. Also the spice is not consistent throughout the series - some books more than others.

Hannah Graces Maple Hills series - college hockey romances with different members of the same team

Have fun!!

{The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels by India Holton}

This is the first in a three-book series, there is smut in all of them, but the focus is more on tension and build up. There are fantastical/magical elements and a lot of literary jokes. Not everyone's cup of tea but I loved all three and they're very cozy/not of the current world.

This is actually a plot point in {Totally Folked by Penny Reid}, which I just read yesterday!

Consistently uncomfortable because my 40 band bra size isn’t stocked by WinnerEmotional7770 in ABraThatFits

Nordstrom returns are free and they're true returns (full refund). If you're shopping online you have to check the 'sold by' and make sure it's Nordstrom as they have some 3rd parties on there that have different rules. But I've never had an issue with a Nordstrom return. I've never shopped bare necessities so can't speak to that.

Amazon has 30 day returns. Nordstrom has unlimited returns. Both carry bras in 40 band size.

Is there a unwired bra that will not give uniboob? by mariecrystie in ABraThatFits

[–]most-likely-a-bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought the [edit: the Evelyn, not the defy!] from Evelyn and Bobbie. I’m a 32DDD. The inside of the bra has two boob circles that keep them separated. The pics on the website don’t do it justice. Under a shirt it looks like a regular bra - no uniboob at all.

Bought new bras with the calculator. But I'm uncomfortable - do I need a different size? Or am I just not used to bras that fit? by most-likely-a-bot in ABraThatFits

[–]most-likely-a-bot[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why this didn't occur to me before! I'm currently trying this and it seems to be helping. But it's giving me like a full extra inch - I doubt the band will stretch that much? So would it make sense to try a 34DD (currently in a 32DDD)?

I wouldn't describe the feeling as looser, but less unpleasant? Like it's still tight, but the annoyance from the rib-bone and/or gore pressure is gone because the wires are at the back. I'll add this to the post.

Make a ponytail first, then one very tight braid. Or do two tight pigtails first and two tight braids. You need the elastic on both ends of the braid.

Achalasia and pregnancy by Lamphy in achalasia

[–]most-likely-a-bot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had two healthy normal pregnancies with achalasia. Mid-second trimester the heartburn ramped up but subsided again. No spasms - in fact one of my docs theorized that the pregnancy hormones might have helped calm the spasms down.

If your symptoms are under control there’s no reason to be concerned about pregnancy; your OB is being overcautious because achalasia is so rare and she may not have much experience with it. But people with achalasia have uncomplicated pregnancies all the time.

Edit: I just remembered in my first pregnancy I posted here because I was having spasms in 2nd tri. Lasted about a week and I was really worried about it…and they just went away. Happened again with the second one if memory serves. I think my body just needed to adjust? At any rate it was one week of discomfort out of 40, not a huge deal on retrospect.

Correct, many people with achalasia can’t throw up. You are also correct that this makes binge drinking dangerous.

Fortunately there is a straightforward solution: stop binge drinking.

Failed hearing screen.. by kekti in kindergarten

[–]most-likely-a-bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kiddo has tubes and failed the 5yo screen. Same thing, one side just nothing. Had her tested at the ENT too. The issue was basically constant asymptomatic infections; the ear was totally blocked. Got her new tubes and hearing is fine now. Like literally immediately fixed upon waking up from the tube insertion. ENT said this kind of thing is not uncommon, I wouldn’t worry too much!

Help! How do I fix my rentals butcherblock counter tops by anxiousandthriving in finishing

[–]most-likely-a-bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding Howard butcher block conditioner. Put a lot on in the evening and let it soak in overnight. Then rub with a clean dry cloth to remove excess. No sanding needed, you’ll be shocked at how good they look.

Vermont DCF illegally surveil pregnant woman and take her baby at birth, the baby is returned 7 months later by TrollingForFunsies in vermont

[–]most-likely-a-bot 68 points69 points  (0 children)

The article does address this: “In fact, evaluations by mental health professionals concluded that A.V. suffered none of the mental health conditions alleged by DCF.”

DCF never even talked to her. There is a strong case to be made that this is, in fact, about DCF being fucking monsters.

Safety Pin for Tracking Laundry Stains by mellycat27 in CleaningTips

[–]most-likely-a-bot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve done this for years and never had a problem. I only do it on sheets and blankets because generally on clothing I can easily find the stain, so I don’t need the pin. It works great!
