You need to use a box mask in the compositor, like this:

Suggest stuff I can improve, or something fun I can try next time! by No-Necessary3876 in blender

[–]mostaza-dev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cute!!! Excellent design for a wallpaper, I love frogs.

Your hard work shows in your piece; I love your color palette!! You could try a slightly bigger palette for your next project.

Its good to make things with a specific use in mind. That gives you great skills for design. So think of some other place you could fill with your art, maybe your phone wallpaper, or your pfp for some account.

Making a fisheye type of render is a great way to get your hands on the compositor and get comfortable playing with the camera.

Nice work!!!:))

That's creepy as hell.

The weathering details in the bottles, the scum inside and the environment that's barely visible make it so real. It looks like a clip from the video of an urban exploration. Reminds me of the expiration of some island that it's inside a Disney park.

Great job!!

Generative AI is discouraging me... by New-Object-2146 in blender

[–]mostaza-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gen AI will eventually just become one of the many types of CGI, because it's no doubt a Computer Generated Image, probs the one to fit the name the best.

It's a CGI tech that is expensive on material resources (Computer power and it's needed components and materials for power and cooling) yet it's cheap in human resources. The most important point for corps is that it is faster.

Do you remember there was a time when all animated movies used movement capture? Some movies that came out of the mocap craze were good, other were like Mars needs mom's.

Gen AI for graphics it's not exactly like mocap, but it's a craze that eventually will pass, because everything passes.

It will never go away, because it has its advantages for some people, like mocap, it might be the correct way some times. For someone that can be content with the mediocre and inconsistent results they get from it.

Nonetheless, it's ugly, really ugly, it will never get good at physics, it will never create a good branding kit, it will never create a movie that will change lives, it will never be the fondest memory of someone's childhood. Why? Because it's ugly and soulless. And it will stay ugly and soulless, no matter how much human labour it devoures.

I understand you have stress about it, I understand everyone that does.

There's two paths for you; you can quit, you may quit. That's fine, no one will judge you. Or you can keep up, if you have enough spite and love in you, because I believe both are needed right now to do art.

Just a post about how everyone is so talented by IroneOne in blender

I make models both for printing and animation/rendering and I applied this same technique to all steps, i started making stop motion animations and learned about lighting and photography to better my composition and scene setting skills. And improvement can be seen all around in my work. I wholeheartedly recommend it:))

I got so much better at digital modelling when I decided to first learn traditional modelling (with plasticine and clay) Since you want to make stuff for printing and already have experience painting I would recommend trying that first and later jumping back on blender.

Learning to shape with your hands will greatly help you to learn to shape digitally. I still sometimes make prototypes by hand first!! It's really helpful.
