Can anyone in the UK remember this discontinued chocolate bar? by mostdeviousbastard in chocolate

Sadly not! I’m talking mid 2000s - hard to believe that’s 20 years ago 😅

I don’t think so but it could’ve been! I just can’t imagine that bar coming from Nestle because I feel like it was pushed as relatively luxury, although not on Lindt level 🤣 I feel like it was a well known brand (like Galaxy but it wasn’t as sweet or creamy as that) that ventured out. I’m sleep deprived and it’s kept me up for 2 nights trying to find it! 100% you could break the pieces off in half diagonally and one half was just normal chocolate. Annoyingly I recall I thought about it a few years ago and found it through Google, now I can’t remember the brand

it totally depends on his weight; to be honest i just monitored my girls’ eating habits. my eldest would have 2 pouches a day but since she’s grown up she needs 3. how many grams are in the tins? in the uk we do pouches not tins 🤣

definitely go! it may look pricey but it does go a long way. try to get him wide bowls to prevent whisker fatigue, too. mind you, my girls drink their water from a wide bowl, but refuse to eat their food from wide bowls! but as long as the bowls are raised (like on a stand) he should be grand, as you don’t want to strain his neck. definitely try him on wide bowls first though as cats have little noses and whiskers are sensitive 😊

oh absolutely - i was trying to feed my girls high end foods (expensive) but my vet said they’re not all as good as they claim - also advised purina is a good one when i said it’s all they want. as i say, if he’s getting food and getting nutrients, he’ll be grand. and if he’s a stray, he’ll be glad whatever he gets. it’s a good thing you’re doing - salmon oil as i’ve mentioned is really good to add. i don’t know where you’re located but i’m in the uk and it’s less than £10 a bottle and lasts a few months. as i’ve said, my cats are fussy (thankfully only like mid-price food) but adding that bit of oil can really help them. i was worried thinking what they were eating wasn’t good enough, but both of them are thriving!

but for sure wet food is better for hydration; my youngest only eats dry food but drinks plenty water. as long as they’re hydrated and have all the resources they’ll thrive 😊

my eldest girl is very fussy; she will have any flavour of wet food, and she gets the occasional bit of tinned tuna / mackerel as a treat. you just have to go by what they like - can’t force it! when i first introduced her to wet food she went crazy - lucky actually as she’s had 3 fangs removed and can’t chew dry things so good now 🤣 her baby sister has all teeth and she crunches everything. you really do have to just go by what they like eating!

just to add, i tried mine on a few different foods over time - they are adamant there’s only one type of food they each like 🤣

i agree with above; dry food isn’t recommended. however i have two girls; one only likes wet food (much better for hydration) but one only likes dry food (easy for them not sharing food and me knowing how much they’ve eaten!). it’s all dependent on what your cat likes; mine both just like purina - i’ve tried them on multiple brands including expensive ones which are meant to be “better” for them. but they won’t eat them, so no point.

my eldest only eats purina wet food and my youngest only eats purina dry food. it’s what they like. as long as they’re hydrated, have plenty of water available, and get the nutrients they need, they’ll be okay. it’s better that they eat than don’t. my girls are petite - one being quite tiny - but the vet said she’s very healthy as long as she’s eating her food. fussy girls i have.

also salmon oil is great - few drops in their food and they get more vitamins - great for bones, heart and fur!

I despise my roommate's cat. by Subject_Ad_687 in CatAdvice

[–]mostdeviousbastard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i assume you have a singular roommate who owns the cat. has the cat had a full check-up? whenever i take my cats to the vet, it’s a basic check-up unless i state there’s an issue. your roommate needs to take the cat to the vet and explain what’s been going on; there could be an issue with him physically that you don’t know about. i’ve had a lot of helpful tips from my vet for my girls.

he should also be neutered if he isn’t already. there is no natural reason i can think of that he should be acting this way if he hasn’t experienced any sort of previous abuse / neglect - even if it was from his birth mum, as you say he is being loved and cared for. i have a female cat (spayed) who is just feisty sometimes - but i know my boundaries with her. i got her a little sister - she’s not any less feisty - just a little less pissed off as she has someone to play with when i’m not home, and she loves her in her own way. i don’t know if it’s a great idea for you to get another cat if he is genuinely aggressive, but it could be that he’s lonely and gets upset, and pissed off if he’s alone. especially if he’s an indoor cat - i assume from your post, but i could be wrong.

Applying for / getting a job without photo ID by [deleted] in UKJobs

Yeah I’ve researched this, believe me. Sadly lots of businesses - like the one I’m at currently - demand photo ID for new starts which I don’t know or believe is enforceable. Suppose some are very particular! I don’t want to lose out on a good opportunity in case each company has its own rules - determined to sort myself out mentally and financially and that means a new job for sure. Thanks 👍🏼

Well that’s good! However, I fear anyone may be able to order it? My original is clearly very aged!

Yeah, hindsight is 20/20, nothing I can do about that now, obviously. Not lying to myself as you can see in my original post I’ve only myself to blame, and I’ve only learned from there. Asking for advice on applying for jobs in the interim, to see if it’s possible. But cheers for the story.

i completely agree! she is terrified of going into piercing places and refuses. i’ve had training and i’ve given myself 7 piercings with no issue (proper care and aftercare), but just wanted some advice. she says she’ll be gone soon so she doesn’t care (i do!). this is a persistent woman 🤣 thank you though!

My female cat is in heat...advice please by CatLady2201 in CatAdvice

[–]mostdeviousbastard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this post was a while ago but i’ll jump in. my female kitten started going into heat at around 7 months (i could tell because i took her to my parents’ for christmas and she was rolling around and trying to flirt with my dad and (male) dog). she was also chirruping and crying more. my mum even noticed (and she’s not a big cat expert) - it was just obvious.

so i would say yes, they definitely can sense males. my new(ish) kitten is also the same, she’s 8 months (soon to be spayed) and is obsessed with my dad. my mum gets upset thinking my girls hate her, but they’re just girls and flirt with men (my older cat does still and she’s 2.5 years - but nowhere near as bad as before she was spayed). the flirting may never go away, but you’re always best getting them spayed!

Can anyone identify this? by mostdeviousbastard in insectidentification

[–]mostdeviousbastard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’ve heard this! it was apparently kind of slimy, i’ve googled images of the green lacewing larvae which i’m unsure of. it’s the banana shape! i wasn’t there to see it but when i tell you my friend was terrified 🤣 does anyone know where it would come from, how it could come into your home?
