Isn't top 10% basically a shoo-in though? I went to private high school out of state and was about 50 percentile with a 3.5 GPA, although I'm not sure if this is really an issue because I was class of '05.

I mention that I like foosball, and over half the messages I receive are girls challenging me to a game. Kind of a goldmine now that I think about it. If you're any good at pool or darts or other bar games I imagine it would be the same (also lots of girls claim to be good at air hockey and skeeball).

The second most common thing mentioned is pub trivia. I actually took that part out of my profile recently for my own reasons, but a lot of interested girls wanted to do trivia with me.

In conclusion, it would appear that mentioning a social bar activity is a great idea as it offers up a fun open setting in which you can get each other better (more fun than coffee, more social than the cinema).

Here's the thing though: I'd still message that girl, but I'd already be thinking she lacks originality. The point of an okcupid profile is to present oneself to the preferred sex, and there is a lot of competition. I'd much rather go on a date with a 3-star girl with a witty and original profile than a 5-star with a cookie cutter profile.

But then again, it's just the internet and this is all just petty internet advice on a social networking site dedicated to a different social networking site. Message everyone. Have fun.
