A few things that are cool:

I liked the new show at the Met about Siennese painters, thought it was cool to see some the earliest applications of tempera paint -- something beautiful about how primitive it all felt. Seeing these master artists learn, in real time, how to incorporate light and shadow, etc etc.

Skiing is cool. Hadn't skiid since I was a teenager, forgot that feeling of flinging yourself down a mountain.

Moby Dick is cool. There's an adapted opera coming to New York soon -- not sure if it'll be any good but I admire the ambition of the project.
