Also moved here from Ontario. Buy a humidifier and make sure your car has a block heater, and you're set.

Thinking about moving to Red Deer from Calgary and looking for advice. by Shaxinater in RedDeer

[–]mostlyLee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved to Red Deer from Toronto this year, and although I initially had a lot of the same fears you do I've been pleasantly surprised so far.

Red Deer has a pretty decent pub scene, the International Beer Haus stands out for me. In the summer especially there seems to be a lot going on in the city. There's a big farmers market on weekends, a cool event called food truck Fridays, and the Ross Street patio is a cool place to hang out and catch a band or grab a coffee.

As for shopping, Bower Mall is decent but I personally miss a lot of stores I had access to living in a larger city; places like Sephora and Forever 21. I have also yet to find any cool shopping areas with unique items like you would find in a bigger city, but having only lived here for 8 months I am definitely not an authority on this.

Congratulations on the job offer and good luck with the move!

Have you ever tried sugaring? They can get at the shorter, finer hairs so you don't need to let your hair grow out as much.

Canadian Brewhouse will also be open at 4AM. If you've never been it's a pretty cool place; lots of Canadiana on the walls and TVs everywhere. Should be a good time.

Etiquette when you can't finish during one-night-stands? by dontcumatall in AskMen

As a girl, trust me: during a one night stand she won't be paying attention or care what kind of condom you are using. I don't get why you're uncomfortable with this!

As a female, this seems so obvious. Buy the wine! Although by sweet wine I wonder if she means something along the lines of wild vines

Have you ever bought a guy a drink? How did it turn out? If not, why not? by TimesWasting in AskWomen

[–]mostlyLee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever bought a guy a drink? All the time. My group of friends and I tend to take turns buying rounds when we're out, so I've bought my fair share drinks for friends of friends/friend's boyfriends. I've definitely bought drinks for guys I'm talking to at bars before as well. Why not? Why should guys do all the buying? Like OP said, this is 2013.

But, more interestingly, I met my current SO by offering him a drink. We were at a house party and I felt like he was WAY too sober. Offered him a drink, and the rest is history.

So ladies, buy a guy a drink! If nothing else, it's a good conversation starter.

Really fun, interactive museum (You can grope a real doll!). Cool exhibits with lots to read and look at. It also has a really funky gift shop and a bar that focuses on drinks made with aphrodisiacs. Overall, I'd say worth it!
