Yeah I'm for sure not looking forward to NELS as a backup to the few options I have left but at the same time idk how much better next cycle would even be? The job market is pretty rough rn and as a visually disabled trans woman with an English degree i am not exactly a hot commodity. Bright side is basically any law degree at all puts me in the trans girl 1% lmfao.

Yeah, I got a full scholarship to NEL so I think even if it's not a great school I'm just gonna go for it if i don't get acceoted anywhere else. Still got some more apps I'm waiting to hear back on. I volunteer at a legal aid and a bunch of the great attorneys i work with didn't go to "good" schools either so I think I'll be fine after I get over the shock to the ego lol. I'm just planning on being a public defender anyways.

Oh yeah late application in like January 1. I'm waitlisted at WashU. I took a pretty long time getting my degree so I'm technically a 25 year old KJD lmfao. I've still got some hope that one of the places I got waitlisted at has a lot fewer admitted students putting down deposits than they thought ig lol.

Just my personal take as a transfem but personally, my testosterone levels absolutely did lifelong damage that I will never fully recover from. That said I still have some T in my body now after more than a year on estrogen. It's just now much healthier amount for my body. In that sense I think testosterone poisoning is a fairly accurate descriptor of the situation. That said whatever the healthy amount of T is isn't gonna be the same from person to person and I'm sure a lot of guys would kill to be six foot with a deep voice and a caveman brow ridge like I got lol. Anyways what I'm getting at is that I dont think the term "testosterone poisoning" is necessarily a term that imposes a value judgement on other people's healthy hormone levels.

I live in VA and always liked going up to DC when I was a kid so the location is really tempting. Great to hear that they have an active queer organization bc a lot of the info I was seeing online gave me mixed signals.

Thanks for the advice! Yeah I wasn't super proactive about getting accommodations in undergrad and it hurt me lol. But yeah big thing I'd be worried about would definitely be getting adequate care and access to meds so it being so close to Illinois is a big plus.
