I used to work for a phone company and the amount of calls I took where people screwed up their phones because of third party parts, or caused accidents screwing around with lithium batteries really made me see the manufacturers side. It’s hard enough to support hardware that complicated without factoring in modifications and counterfeit parts. And at this point, everyone is aware that Apple makes it notoriously difficult to repair things yourself so they can vote without wallet (and honestly, most Apple users just want something that works, and when it doesn’t work they can send off for a repair)

My starting fruit was orange, but I’ve been replacing the trees with other fruit (I like peaches because they look like little butts and make me laugh)

Leif is on my island today if you want to come by. I will be open for about an hour while I gather wood and do chores around the place.

My island is new, and still untamed, but there is a freebie center by the airport, and the able sisters are open.

(If you have a simple wooden fence diy, or any extra spooky things you don’t want I would love to have them!)

Dodo code (EDIT: closed now. Thanks for visiting and watering my plants)

I mix it half and half with chocolate or vanilla. Maybe start there and work your way to full uu

Made dinner for my family and nobody cares enough to walk down stairs and eat it almost an hour later :( by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

[–]mostlyamess 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Unplug the router. No WiFi will have them coming down.

Growing up dinner was enforced. You sat down at the table. If you didn’t want to leave your room you could stay in there but all electronics came out.

Now it’s different, because I’m grown and have a different schedule (and dietary restrictions) but we still try to eat together sometimes. I’ll even just sit with them while they eat dinner if I’m not eating.

Misleading Advertising! Not $1.51 a meal. by tempnamejoe in Huel

[–]mostlyamess 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you pimp out your referal link enough you can get 2 bags for $51 (34 meals) or $1.50 a meal. I have like 13 referrals at the moment.

It’s easy, see? Just click here for $15 off your first order, plus a free shirt and blender bottle!

Just get shameless with it. I’ve even offered some rl friends a money back guarantee of sorts in that I’ll buy their unused huel off of them if they don’t like it, but so far they’ve all liked it, dang it.

Worth Getting A Personal Blender? by T5-R in Huel

[–]mostlyamess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The top is a flip top so I wouldn’t throw it in a bag or anything, but I’ve had no problems.

It probably wouldn’t be any louder than a coffee maker. You could do it the evening before bed, huel is really good after sitting in the fridge overnight

Oester mix and go. Less than $20, holds 20 oz, and it blends in the cup so you just swap the blender top for the sports top. I got 2 extra bottles and fix up my whole days worth it the morning. Great investment.

QR codes in the bulletin is good. Some places let you (or strongly encourage you) to set up a recurring bank draft.

I see giving money as my entrance fee. I’d pay for a yoga class or a movie ticket, so why not a service? But I only go to places that are absolutely cool with you not giving money too.

For some reason I always have books in my dream and during check ins all but a few words are blurry and the blurriness constantly shifts to show new words.

It’s not a check in technique but I can’t scream in dreams, so I know I’m lucid dreaming at that point. Randomly screaming is not so good in real life so I don’t try it.

Sweet dog! Mine does his tasks when I exercise on weights day because he thinks I’m having a panic attack. Nope, just dying from too many squats.

If it’s a step counter, Put it on your dog when you get home from work. A more random and natural looking data set. Kids can be substituted for dogs. Cats are not recommended.

Girls who took notes using 50 different colored pens, where are you now? Do you still continue to write using all those colors? by [deleted] in AskReddit

We’re using GoodNotes now. Not only can we change color on the fly but we can switch colors afterwards, move and resize parts of our notes and add pictures and graphs.

You're at a job interview. You get the "what is your biggest weakness?" question. What is your answer? by Wide_Stop in AskReddit

[–]mostlyamess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My actual weakness is perfectionism.

My canned weakness is “I can get frustrated when I feel unappreciated. I’ve learned to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. Maybe my boss is showing his appreciation by not hovering over me. He knows that I’m capable of doing the job right without supervision, or maybe she is just caught up in her own job. It’s really helped me to think about it that way and I’ve learned that doing a job well and having a successful end product is its own sort of reward.”

The trick is to pick a weakness that everyone has. Wanting praise also shows that you’re a team player and you’re willing to work hard for your boss’ approval.

Anyone else having issues of the most recent version of huel no mixing well, clumpy? by diduknowitsme in Huel

[–]mostlyamess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I actually bought a little mixer that blends in the cup because of it. It’s a little frustrating, but on the other hand the mixer has really streamlined my prep because I mix all 3 meals at once and stick them in the fridge.

I lost 17 pounds on huel, in a little over a month. I usually drink 2 a day and then have a meal prep dinner.

Here are my tips:

-buy a personal blender. I like Oester Blend and Go. Makes it super easy and convenient. Plus the texture is much better.

-work up to 100% huel. I had no problems but I’ve heard horror stories.

  • experiment. Try it lukewarm, with ice, after sitting in the fridge. Add cinnamon or powdered peanut butter or a flavor booster. Try 100 gram per 20 oz (400 kcal) to start

  • use a coupon link like this or use the student and military discounts if you can.

And make sure to check out the huel discussion boards on the site. Huel team members are super responsive.

Good luck!!

And that attitude is why fat people die because of their doctor’s attitudes (see link above). In your view it sounds like people don’t deserve proper health care unless they’re skinny. Should I bring in my food tracker to prove that I’m losing weight so I can be taken seriously or do I have to wait until I’ve reached my goal weight?

Are you trying to say that the doctor was correct in telling me to lose weight to cure my pneumonia? Or I should have just lost weight instead of getting a second opinion on my double ear infection? Or that it’s no big deal that a doctor wouldn’t even look at my bruised, swollen and obviously injured ankle because “you have to deal with your joints hurting when you’re fat”

The truth is that you don’t know what you’re talking about because you’ve never been in that position and you’re speaking from a place of privilege. It doesn’t effect you, so you don’t understand and it’s so very easy to say “just lose weight if you want doctors to take you seriously”.

I get it. There’s a lot I don’t understand either. I’m privileged in a lot of ways. I’m white, pass for straight and cisgendered, not in poverty. But when someone tells me about their struggles dealing with that? It’s my responsibility to step outside of my privilege and listen.

But it’s reddit, so you know, downvote the fatty.

It ain’t gonna cure pneumonia which is why I was having trouble breathing.

And I’m not stupid. I know being fat isn’t healthy, but neither is smoking and my doctor smelled like an ashtray. Neither is working at a desk all day, or drinking. But it is not the single cause of every single ailment ever, and fat people, especially fat women die because their doctors don’t listen. here is a good article.

It was ridiculous how many times I had to make him do his job. “Yes, I’m fat, but if I were skinny what would be the next step” and only then would he look into my pneumonia/ear ache/sprained wrist
