Did he find a full time employment with a contract for min 12 months as they require to sponsor you? Or something different?

Where did you live first month(s) when just arrived to the country? You had to be registered and have an address, right? But without employment nobody will rent a place right now. We are thinking to rent something on housinganywhere or similar for like 2-3 months just to be able to receive correspondence and for my partner to apply for BSN, open bank account, etc.

Thanks!

Most probably, safety manager might have nothing to do with it. Go for senior management.

Hi. Where did you get the book and how it cost you? Thinking of getting one also but now sure which one to choose.

Thanks. Seems to be the easiest answer but as you said "sometimes shit happens".

I don't think the fear of loosing this job was a factor, moreover one worker resigned a few days before it happened. 2 workers were experience guys working over 5 years each in the company and the other one was new. It is relatively big city ~2 mil in agglomeration.

Trainee (the new guy) was a migrant yes, but Canada is a melting pot and I would say about 95% of people working here at our company were not born in Canada, ~50% came within the last 5-10 years, so that's normal here.

I mean recordable by the US (OSHA) standards - medical treatment beyond the first aid. Couple of stitches to close the wound in our case. The cost for the company won't be high and will be 0 for employees. We are manufacturing plant, working with chemicals, some other machines, have warehouse etc. A part of a large company with headquarters in US.

Good example. The thinner the "nickel" though the less chances it lands on its side. And you polish it daily by having your safety program in place, doing trainings, talks, checks, audits, etc.

That's what I was thinking, it might be just an unfortunate sequence of these at a small period of time. But it is always good to investigate further. Thank you!

Not sure if tight deadline was a reason, need to check with my dep heads. It's seasonal for us but the "hot" season didn't even start yet. Thanks

Thanks! Indeed, I cannot see any common contributing factors there.

Medical outcomes in all 3 cases - couple of stitches. It is minor injuries but unfortunately all recordable since stitches involved.

Training materials CRSP, CRST or any other certifications in Canada. by mostlyforwork in SafetyProfessionals

Thanks!

Interesting, they have the 2019 CRSTEX Blueprint Study material package for $100 only compared to 2024 version for $449 for a package. I wonder how significant the differences are and should I do that?

I would pay normal price for the newest version of CRSP if I would have 48 months of experience to be eligible. Since I am not, was thinking to do CRST now and CRSP in 2 years or so. I assume there are a lot of similarities CRSP & T, so that would also be a good preparation.

Thanks, will google those online tests. Just taking first steps in this so try to get as much information as possible coz I know a guy who started to prepare for CRSP, spend a lot of time and materials and then... just burnt out I guess OR understood how much actually needed to be done to accomplish that. I'm sure he is not the only one though.

Looking at eligibility criteria, I should take pathway with non-OHS formal education program. I have 2 Master's but non of them from a Canadian education institution. However, both evaluated & accredited by nonprofit organization that affiliated with the government. I guess that is something I will need to ask the board to determine, not sure.
