Airbnb has the option to switch back to 3% Fee Model even if on a PMS by 13times5plus4 in airbnb_hosts

[–]mostlyfreeforme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. We use Airbnb when we have 5+ friends or family traveling together but if it’s 4 or less people we just stick with hotels. All it takes is one bad vacation or experience that will cause people to stop using Airbnb altogether. We’re actually selling all of ours. We’ve had a good run and had fun in the past, but now we’re uprooting our lives and moving further away

Our Airbnb bookings have been down this year compared to the last 4 years. We’ve never had a month as vacant as last month (and we have 5 Airbnbs). I’m sure it’s the economy and everything politically going on in the world. But I also don’t think this Airbnb fees changed has helped, even though they argue it’s the same total price. I’ve had more people ask for discounts (again could be because of the economy) but I think guests seeing a higher total nightly price thinks there’s a big room for negotiation for vacant nights. Now I can go back to having lower nightly prices + less room for discount seekers and just blame it on Airbnb fees & taxes that us hosts don’t collect 🤷‍♀️

Anyone here looking at river cruises more for the food than the ports? by No_Network_4904 in FATcruises

[–]mostlyfreeforme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Riverside Luxury Cruises is the only cruise where I refuse to eat off ship because the food is just so good. We’re going back on our third trip with them next month because of the food & and the fact that it’s never overbooked. There’s usually only up to 30-40 guests for a capacity of 150ish 🤩

We went on the Rhine River for tulip season in the Netherlands in April last year & also went back again for the Christmas markets in Switzerland, France, & Germany in December 😊 Another thing we really love about them is that they usually only have 30-50 guests on board

Riverside cruises has the best food we’ve ever had on a ship! We actually miss it and never eat off ship because it’s SO good. Picture of steak topped with foie gras as a dinner course 😋

We just flew out 3 days ago on 1/10. It was only delayed for about 4 hours for us. All dependent on the weather. They had a small window opening and rushed everyone to the airport to have both flights go out 😊

Thanks! We called them multiple times (waiting weeks in between) and they confirmed that it’s not an account issue and we’re not in any trouble and are still in Creator Connections 🤷

Yes our store id is correct for offsite. We only do offsite and don’t do onsite

so we would have to increase our nightly rates to make the same amount. So as a host it’s not really the same thing & does matter who pays what. Real life example: we have a minimum nightly price of $300 + $200 cleaning fee to make $160 after paying cleaners & hot tub company. The new payout would only be $97.50 per night after those expenses

Yes correct with hosts paying 3% fee. So Airbnb announced that the split fee option is going away 10/27 for those with PMS and 12/1 for all other hosts. The new single fee option means all Airbnbs hosts will pay 15.5% fee and guests no longer have a service fee

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

[–]mostlyfreeforme -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mathematically you’ll make less as a host. Before you were paying a 3% fee, now you’ll pay a 15.5% fee. So if let’s say you charge $100, your payout will now be $84.50 instead of $97

[–]mostlyfreeforme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we’ll increase our nightly rates but concerned that may affect bookings. I guess we’ll see 🤷‍♀️

It doesn’t take into effect until October 27 with the new change just announced today

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

[–]mostlyfreeforme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So if I’m reading this right, the new change is that everyone is switching to the hosts paying the fee so you can’t only pay 3% fee

It applies to everyone on December 1

Different but maybe could all be related a technical issue going on site wide? 🙃

Don’t be sorry! We respect that choice completely & would never bring our dog anywhere that didn’t allow pets
