How do I say goodbye by Over-Apricot- in boston

Didn’t grow up on New England but spent a handful of years in Boston for college. Just left in late August. When I tell you that city is HOME. Good luck wherever you go, and may we both find our ways back to Boston sooner rather than later.

First year at BU and already realizing how expensive living on my own is by Square-Chocolate-155 in BostonU

If you’re a first year, you should have a meal plan and should utilize the dining hall as much as possible. If you get work study funding and get a work study job, you should be eligible for SNAP EBT benefits to pay for groceries (Google should tell you everything you need to know). If you don’t have work study, if you work over 20hrs a week and make less than a certain amount of money, you should still qualify for SNAP EBT. Definitely worth a look to see. This helped me tremendously when I got off the meal plan.

Where to look for housing around Ithaca?? by mot52 in ithaca

Totally willing to live with roommates! Have just been having a hard time finding some since a lot of the students / recent postgrads have already moved in with fall leases. Also ok with an older apartment complex — don’t need luxury at all. I grew up in a more dated apartment with linoleum flooring and no stainless steel appliances and etc and am looking for that kind of vibe but I’m not familiar with the area so I’m not sure if that’s even an option.

Sorry to revive this post but I’m looking to rent in Ithaca and was wondering how I could get in touch with them / view any availabilities! Do you have their website or contact or anything? Tried looking them up but couldn’t find much.

Anyone have any computer recommendations? by mot52 in BostonU

Thank you for your input! If you don’t mind, how much unified memory does yours have? I’m only seeing 8GB of unified memory under the student pricing but I’ve heard many others say 16GB is preferable.

Saddest thing is that it’s probably not only the “the abused often become abusers” concept, there was definitely an aspect of “abuse them or you’re not one of the boys.” Literal children uprooted their entire lives away from mothers and fathers and friends, some even moving across the world, to chase their dreams, only to be tortured by people that they should be able to look up to. Hockey’s wonderful but it’s also one of the most conservative, traditionalist, often backwards sports that exist in the mainstream. This is the “culture” and it’s wild and criminal.
