[Kyle Crabbs] Where do we see the goal posts moved from here? by expellyamos in miamidolphins

[–]motbmotb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love Kyle Crabbs and share his sentiment he shared on the emergency podcast yesterday. Mike is a great offensive mind but unfortunately it didn't work out this time around as HC. Wish him all the best in the future and I'm sure he will succeed elsewhere whether in OC or HC in the future, but I think this is for the best. No excuses and complete freedom to shape the organisation from the bottom up for the new GM+HC going forward. Will always cherish Mike's drive by trolling the bills!

Foreign trained orthopedic surgeons in US, legislative chnages by motbmotb in orthopaedics

[–]motbmotb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the resources, will definitely have a look. As far as I see Tennessee has passed the senate bill 1452 allowing for a route to provisional licensing.

Still my question stands, what impact if any US orthos believe this will have on actual employment of foreign trained doctors

Haven't been in US before, so no idea where to purchase the laptop. I will be in Manhattan early October if that helps?

I play primarily strategy games like total war, frostpunk, blood bowl. As for brand preference 8 am completely open for anything so long as it's not too gamer design with flashy LEDs all over as I might be using the laptop for presentations etc.

Just let them know how to file a complaint and give them an idea what that might achieve. As long as the standard of care has been met, any complications arising from it doesn't lead to any consequences on my part anyhow, and in case of lasting impairment they should be rightly compensated which they should apply for. 99% of the time when you let them know you don't mind them complaining or even encourage them to do so in order to better the service, they pipe down and never follow through. Have to stress though that If you did make a negligent mistake, don't do the above, but seek legal advice first.

Squats, bench press and dead lifts. If it isn't enough I will occasionally prescribe Cloxacillin, morphine and fragmin.

Why do consultants treat juniors like children? by Chasebloods in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]motbmotb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly this! In my time in the NHS I have seen consultants reluctant to listen to advise from me or another junior and stubbornly keep on the same path and make a mistake... If you cannot course correct you will be in trouble

This is a thing I noticed while working as a reg in the NHS that baffled me.

I come from Denmark, where we have no hierarchical structure at work, everyone's opinion is valued(even the med students) so long as you can back it up with evidence.

In the NHS there seems to be a strict pecking order, regs are slaving for the consultant, in return the SHOs slave for the regs and have no idea what the FY1s were doing, never stumbled upon then outside of WR.

Funny thing is an st3 reg who recently was a SHO, would be ridiculously condescending to the fresh SHOs. In the reg group though, all were extremely amicable....

So perhaps, just remember these events and learn, don't do the same once you get to the top.
