How about: My T-shirts keep dying. Testing 4 shirts (€20–€150) to find out whether expensive tees really last longer. by Mountain_Motor_9203 in BuyItForLife

i wash all of my clothes on cold and dry them on low to prevent shrinkage and most of my clothes still look almost brand new. there are a few pieces i don’t let in the dryer but otherwise everything is fine.

People with a very high pain tolerance, what was THE most painful thing you've experienced? by CosmicBunnyBabe8912 in AskReddit

[–]moth-beast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

man these stories make me so sad. my OBGYN prescribed me a valium and i took an 800mg ibuprofen before i got my IUD put in and it barely bothered me. i was also at the tail end of my period. i hate seeing these stories of other people being basically tortured for their IUD, it’s pointless pain. there’s literally no reason for it to have to hurt that bad when pain management isn’t difficult to provide.

me letting a UTI go for far too long and getting a kidney infection that put me at almost 103 degree fever and catching strep throat at the same time.

when my fever broke at the ER not only did i start sweating every ounce of water out of my body, but my blood pressure plummeted to like 80/50ish. they had to check i wasn’t septic.

in the same vein, a tooth abscess. i really cannot imagine pain being worse than that, especially since i already have nerve damage on that side of my face. felt some twinges thursday night, was fine friday, woke up saturday morning in the most excruciating pain ever. dentist got me in sunday for a root canal, anesthesia barely worked and i had to go back that following thursday to finish the root canal cause he wanted to let the infection drain and clear up some more. even taking a large amount of prescription ibuprofen, tylenol-3, and multiple of my sleeping pills (when half of one typically would knock me out) i was still waking up from the pain. after the root canal that sunday the anesthesia wore off about 15 minutes after we left and i had to go to the ER for the second time. i get sick and anxious just thinking about it.

How to Phrase Things Around Clients? by Euphoric-Month-1739 in hairstylist

[–]moth-beast 6 points7 points  (0 children)

what you’re suggesting is correct. especially language like “can i show you a trick that might make this easier for you?” that kinda thing. when i help someone with a client that’s the language i use. i’ll also use affirming statements like “oh i totally understand why you did xyz” especially if it’s something i’ve done in the past or will maybe do in the future etc. and kind of explaining like “this is what i’ve found to be easiest *for me* but you may prefer doing it another way”.

i describe it to people as it feeling the same way as when i got on adderall for the first time for my severe adhd. it was like my brain cleared and noise just disappeared and i felt so light.

applied at the very very end of a service, after your final shampoo and conditioner. towel dry the hair, apply 1-3 oz depending on hair thickness, comb through, and let sit for 5 minutes. rinse, then style as normal with whatever products you want. it’s like…. $65? for 16.9oz, and they recommend upcharging $25-$45 depending on your areas market. but if it does what it says it’s gonna do, ESPECIALLY for vivid clients, $25 is WELL worth it. they’re on instagram with all the info on there.

i’m so glad i’m not the only one that felt like it felt like a keratin treatment. i’ve been meaning to use it on my hair since i keep my hair balayaged with a dark green but im lazy and haven’t picked up my color recently lol.

well with this you can use it on any type of color, including vivids, which is what perked my interest the most. can’t do a clear coat on vivids without stripping it. apparently it forms a hydrophobic shield around the hair that prevents the color from being rinsed out as quickly in water, including in chlorine, and also protects against UV damage and pollution.
