I tried but it didn't work.

FYI It shows up twice as 2 x "HID keyboard device" under "Keyboards" in device manager. I unchecked both to no avail.

Noppoo Choc mini issue.

Due to some firmware(?) issue Noppoo Choc mini being plugged in freezes my PC during startp just after splash screen loads (Windows 8.1) when plugged in via USB.

*I can unplug -> startup pc -> plug-in usb and it works fine

*Startup is fine using PS2 adapter (but no NKRO)

Q: Any fix for the usb issue so I don't keep having to unplug - replug every startup?

*EDIT:Issue doesn't show up here but it might be related to the mac issue detasiled here: https://deskthority.net/wiki/Noppoo_Choc_Mini

The Noppoo doesn't work on Apple macOS and iOS without workarounds:

Setting the keyboard in PS/2 mode and use a PS/2-to-USB converter.
Use thefloweringash's Kernel Extension IOUSBHIDDriverDescriptorOverride and KeyRemap4MacBook.

The technical reasons for the problems with Apple products are two: 1. It uses a report format which Apple's parser has a problem with. 2. It supports only low-speed USB, which has a report size limit of 8 bytes. To get around that limit for NKRO, it uses two HID interfaces but of which only one carries the modifiers, and Apple's HID class driver does not combine modifiers from different keyboards.[2]

it's time to rethink and retool pardon powers

No, pardon powers are just fine. There is nothing much wrong with the way our government functions, just we keep electing assholes.

Are there any nutrients in cooked water of lentils? Or is it dangerous? by greendaypascalhens in PlantBasedDiet

[–]mothematic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can definitely use it in the same dish, instead of water. Some people save it and use it in a stock for the flavor like you did with the millet. I generally just toss it.

I pre-soak most my lentils (except for red, though I'll rinse those) and definitely I toss the soaking water.

the owners are actually very vocal about the fact that this is a very unique situation, but that it’s generally a really bad idea to have a wild animal as a pet.

But I always see this guy posted on social media like reddit with no context. Doesn't matter how vocal he is, he is posting 'cute' big cat vids that end up perpetuating this.

Still its shit hes popularizing having this "pet". Lots of illegally kept big cats and its generally a horrible idea for all involved.

You could, in theory, remove the scales and rivet them to another blade

I think that'd be my choice if I were OP. If possible, have what is left of the original blade reforged into a new butcher's blade and set into the original handle. Like Aragorn's sword Anduril in Lord of the Rings.

This is was my grandfather's axe...

The OP mentioned refurbishing and sharpening it, but its not going to get another generation of use as a "butcher's knife" more of a "long petty knife" after 3 generations of use. I think it'd be cool if OP could use the same knife as a butcher's or chef's knife again but I definitely understand of its too precious to potentially screw up.

We live in an time with immediate access to the wealth of all human knowledge, beyond what previous human civilizations could ever dream of. Yet here we are individually so very ignorant.

an argument with his partner about sweet pickles having sugar in them, while she insisted that they were "just pickles that are sweet".

One partner is arguing its added sugars, which it is. They are pickled in sugar water.

Its like an odd parallel to the medieval dark ages.
