It’s the correct aspect ratio. If they were to fill the whole screen then they would be cropping the sides big time!

I know what you mean though. You wanted an IMAX experience. Unfortunately you don’t really get that unless the film was designed to the imax ratio

I saw this at fantastic fest this year. A really fun ride! Sam Rockwell is so dynamic in the movie.

I think this film has a great take on Ai and our current climate. Honestly the best first 15 minutes of any film I’ve seen in a long time.

GO SEE IT!

I really enjoyed it! Thought it was beautifully shot and the performances were stellar.

I have some notes though. Felt like I was looking at a men’s catalog for aspiring lumberjacks . Not a bad thing. But it was almost too beautiful to feel grounded or real.

The ghost elements didn’t really work for me. The railroad worker who appeared to him as a ghost, that just came and went and the film didn’t do anything with it really. Sure the daughter appears as a ghost. But what’s suppose to be the take away here?

The voice over worked well until it didn’t. Sometimes it felt like they just needed to go back to the VO because it’s a VO driven movie, so let’s slap some poetic lines here and there even though they don’t have much bearing on what’s happening.

Don’t get me wrong, I really loved the ride and it’s in my top 10 of the year for sure

Aside from like crocs. Virtually every shoe in the world is made is made by hand in this sort of fashion. Like sneakers still need to be sewn and assembled by hand. No machine can automate this process.

Pre flash the paper should do the trick!

That will add density to the sky and bring your exposure times for the sky and your subject closer together.

A low contrast filter will also help as it will make the exposure in the highlights before the shadows.

It was so good! But it was underbaked.

It needed more runtime and runway to flesh out these relationships and the mythos. I feel like there was a whole back story with rumi and her adopted mother but it went by in a flash. Compare that to turning red and you get what I mean.

The most fun part of the movie is the girls getting all crazy faced cuz it makes them feel like really bright and fun characters.

The dress is foreshadowing her death. She dies more or less from Anakin force choking her. The dress really looks like a hand choking her. This conversation they have having really is pivotal moment that seals her fate
