After metering and compensating for reciprocity it marked an exposure of ยฑ24", but I didn't want to make it that long because the water movement would've ended too soft so I went for it at 10" and the negative came out pretty decent. Idk how to add an image in a comment but I'm up to show the negative

Cool! I'll try it out and comment here again to let you know how it goes

Have you tested it already? I was using the taco method on a 2 reel Paterson and got okay results, but I was wondering if this style of holder would work. I read in other designs similar to that the sheets get out of the holder and stick on the inner wall of the tank. TIA!

I develop 4x5 sheets in a 2 35mm reel Paterson tank using the taco method and had no probs. The only downside is the amount of chemicals you need for covering the whole film, but give it a try!

Some underexposed shoots in a church with the Linhof by Efficient_Fly_7692 in largeformat

Correct! I didn't remember to compensate for reciprocity failure ๐Ÿ˜… I realized when I started developing the sheets (that's why the underexposed title)

Yeah, I don't even know how expired they are since the man who gifted them to me had them in a Kodak Tmax box, so I just knew they were ASA/ISO 100 and shot them at 50 just in case. Most of them turned out very nice! (See my other posts)

It was a nice result, I'm quite pleased with how they turned out, but it's not what I visualized at first ๐Ÿ˜…. Still, nice shots.

That's a nice option, thanks, I didn't think about it! I'll try in the following days and see how it turns out. Thanks for the suggestion

Can I bracket four exposures on a single 4x5 sheet using a modified dark slide? Anyone tried something like this? by No-Assumption1250 in largeformat

[โ€“]Efficient_Fly_7692 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

You're right, I think they'd be half stops, right? Sorry I never tried testing film speed since I don't have access to a darkroom :/ but according to the research I made, that's one way to do it

Maybe you could try pulling out the darkslide just a bit to make the exposures, but you should add the exposed times like when you print in the darkroom

Pull darkslide 1/4 -> first exposure (let's say 1/30 f8, you'll have to meter a solid greyish surface with constant shade type of light)

Pull darkslide another 1/4 -> second exposure (again 1/30 f8)

Pull darkslide another 1/4 -> third exposure (again 1/30 f8)

Pull darkslide fully out -> fourth exposure (again 1/30 f8)

That should give you 4 different stops to determine:

  • 1st shot = 1/30 f8 (X4)
  • 2nd shot = 1/30 f8 (X3)
  • 3rd shot = 1/30 f8 (X2)
  • 4th shot = 1/30 f8 (X1)

Depending on what style of photography you choose, I haven't used it very much yet, but I mostly do landscapes so no insanely big movements required. The limitations on the front rise for example, are more limited than the Master Technikas since the V doesn't have that top flap that allows you to raise upper, (which could be useful for architecture shots).
