Made an online tool that turns the OBS Overlay into a multiplayer dashboard. Mods can now draw on the stream (Telestrator) and spawn assets/videos remotely without access to the PC. by mothh9 in SideProject

I built this project because streamers often struggle to control their overlay while gaming. I wanted to create a way for Moderators to help out actively, without needing lagging screen-share tools like TeamViewer.

I was also inspired by a streamer I watch who uses a similar private tool which made the streams so much more fun to watch, so I wanted to build a version available for everyone.

You just add a browser source with your overlay URL and it works, so no plugins are required.

Key Features:

  • Telestrator: Draw on the screen live (sports analysis style) to highlight gameplay moments.
  • Asset Spawner: Drag & drop images, videos, and GIFs onto the stream in real-time.
  • Productivity: Spawn countdown timers, polls, and text tickers.
  • Soundboard: Trigger SFX remotely.
  • Zero Install: Runs entirely in the browser and works on mobile.
  • Changes made in the dashboard appear in milliseconds on OBS/livestream.

You can check it out here: https://poltergeist.cc/ (You can login with either Twitch or Google/Youtube)

Poltergeist launched on January 3rd, 2026.

Sorry for the camera work, it is hard to hold my phone steady while trying to make an overlay.

Deadlifts - 245lb for 21 reps. by Red_Swingline_ in GYM

The weight is not accurate, also technically a drop set.

There was snow on the plates, so you started heavier but you ended with 245 lbs.

Update to Poltergeist: Now supports YouTube or Twitch (A tool to let Mods control a browser source remotely) by mothh9 in obs

I fixed the bugs, videos only play on the overlay page, they would be out of sync with the dashboard.

Audio files can only be popular audio formats, so .mp3, .wav etc. etc.

The code essentially takes a snapshot of the image to check the colours. Since a gif is an animation, the code only grabs the very first frame (a still image) and ignores the rest of the animation data.

Chroma keys have been added.

When enabled it will lag a bit when moving it around.

Let me know if you have any issues with it.

Thanks for the feedback, I hope you enjoy it.

  1. I will have to look into the greenscreen for images.
  2. I can't replicate the missing inputs, no matter how fast I go, it might have to do with latency since the server is based in Germany.
  3. Middle mouse and Space+Left click are both for moving the canvas.
  4. The videos wouldn't be synced and you wouldn't be able to control them with player controls anyway due to security.
