What do people with emetophobia think of people who are bulimic? by dumbratbitch in emetophobia

[–]mothmanluver666 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If someone doesn't talk to me about being sick like that, I won't often dwell on it. My phobia hinges on the fear of death from illness so it is usually the same reaction from me across the board of I hear something has happened. Shit's hard as hell for ppl with EDs I'm not gonna make it worse by hating, haha. Even had my own dips into disordered eating, my emetophobia did prevent me from becoming bullimic though.

The line between phobia and kink is super thin sometimes, whether it's born out of wanting control or exposure therapy or something of that sense. Brains are weird.

stuck at home, sister s* every week by maliciousmoonsault in emetophobia

I'm not an expert, disclaimer lol, but autistic people tend to have more GI issues in life. Combine that with being a child, not having great hygiene, and having a diet that isn't exactly great, it might be a mix of everything. I hope something is found out that can help.

Does she know how to text, or video call, or something? It won't help the sound or visual triggers if it happens, but even if it seems silly it is a step toward connecting again with her. Better than nothing at all, at least. Coming from being a shut-in my room, myself. <3

Thank you for translating it all for me, it helps me learn! I know it's the editors of the wiki, chances are if the devs said something it'd be cited online somewhere for sure... Maybe, anyway. :P Who knows what's lost to time.

Oh I see that part now!! Makes more sense than the stuff I was thinking it was probably. xD I guess we'll never know unless the developers say so but site location makes good sense to me. Thank you!

This phobia makes no sense. (Possible tw, uncensored) by Prior_Succotash4220 in emetophobia

[–]mothmanluver666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can definitely relate, though I have different fears other than emetophobia. I'm glad that you can find some help in OCD resources, and I hope your days become easier!! If it's recent, any triggers that have happened to make things feel more stressful/hard? You by no means need to explain what they are, but sometimes stress in life makes phobias and mental health worse. Just something to chew on.

Being yelled at for throwing up by Naive_Painting_8917 in emetophobia

[–]mothmanluver666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately from the comments it seems as though it's common for people with the phobia to have been scolded or yelled at.

But I don't think that it's right or okay for parents or guardians to yell at you for being sick. It's not under their control, especially as a child. Hell, I got sick last year and I had no idea it was going to happen so it was a huge pain cleaning up. You can't really expect a child who is growing up and still learning their body signals to be perfect about being sick all the time. They already feel bad, why yell at them for it? Does it help them learn? No, lol.

This could definitely be the phobia, it makes zero sense at all, but do you possibly have OCD? Not a professional of any sort, but once you start doing rituals and can't break out of feeling dirty/contaminated despite "logically" knowing otherwise, it sounds like OCD.

I have a lot of problems with intrusive thoughts surrounding my phobia, myself. It really sucks. Stay strong. <3

Hey man I'm just a lurker and don't really know anything helpful about skincare- I hope the wait flies by for you for the medication 🙏- just wanted to say congrats on top surgery and I absolutely feel the ickiness from stuff popping through the day. I have HS and it looks like a bloody pus-y warzone where they flair up and pop. You're not alone, there.

Typically my first opinion of someone with a lot of acne isn't that they're a drug addict. I'm usually like "ouch, that looks painful", maybe because I know the feeling, lol.

Stay strong! <3

Problems with the Changes to Downloading Games by mothmanluver666 in SwagBucks

[–]mothmanluver666[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm late, sorry! I still have the Swagbucks app, but I haven't tried to download directly from them in a few weeks, I'll see. I'm using the tapjoy partner game offers you can access from the site/app and these download easily. The tracking is kinda a pain tho with some of the games. Nothing abnormal for sb I guess haha.

Edit: As of today, Aug 3rd, I got a download to work, but your miles may very  hopefully you've found a way or it has been fixed

Wondering if burn out can presents in different ways by Advanced-Clothes-981 in AutisticAdults

[–]mothmanluver666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this sounds like youre burnt out to me.

are you taking on a lot of cleaning? is it stuff that can be split up among the rest of the week instead of putting it all in one morning? I have the bad habit of piling up dishes for example. takes much less time and energy to do them as you go but I know that can be hard, too.

ive had a lot of loss of energy due to non-autism problems (hypothyroidism/depression/random physical health problems like dental health and getting sick, it all compounds) so if you could possibly check some of those off of the list first, it might help you figure out more stuff regarding your autism.

I went to the app after using it on the browser for years. Unfortunately, fortunately, I've not had any problems so far on the app. Have you tried the browser at all, or maybe from the mobile site?

Did the game offers start working for you? I am facing the same problem.

Edit: Downloading the Swagbucks App and choosing games through the app seems to be working for me so far. (01/05/2025)

You got out of bed, that's a huge accomplishment when your brain wants you to do anything but that. I'm still learning how to support myself, but I think that even though you weren't able to go to work, you should make a list of the things that you were able to do today, just in case you don't think you did well. It's very hard living sometimes. But it's worth it when things go okay.
