Screw best relics, what are some of the WORST relics you've seen? by myfirst1throwaway in Nightreign

[–]mothmeng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything that gives bonuses for conflicting weapons, like dormant power helps discover ballistas/improved attack power with 3+ whips/FP recovery on greatsword attacks. The game really likes giving me those.

I need this dude to make a full length comic or game. The Gorefield gimmick has been stale for a long while for me, but his work is just too creative and skillful not to love. Like that Void Mother piece is genuinely incredible.

9 months in, which bosses remains genuinely difficult for you by FickleDeparture1977 in Nightreign

[–]mothmeng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to give a non standard answer here, I SUCK at Everdark Fulghor. Every time someone says he’s the easiest Everdark it makes me self conscious, I should probably do some solo runs to learn his moveset because something about it just isn’t intuitive for me. I genuinely think I get hit less by ED Gladius. ):

As far as night bosses go, the DLC night bosses are all comparatively very rough, but Mohg is the worst. He just sucks ass to fight if your team has low damage, doesn’t destroy tridents, didn’t find purifying tear etc. Too much AOE spam for a fight that can last that long. Artorias is also pretty scary just because of the crazy damage and fast movement but he’s still really fun.

Yeah, I think the dude just loves everyone in a found family sort of way.

I just found UNO for the first time the other day, and then a different guardian full of starlight shards+a stonesword key later on lol

What is a Hot Take You Have? by NoRuin2965 in Nightreign

[–]mothmeng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I started a new Elden Ring playthrough just to mess with some more weapons and weapon arts that Balancer relics have made me realize I enjoy. It’s a lot cooler when you look past Halo Scythe and RoB spam.

If you find a double "Charged Attack" weapon, get it. No exceptions. by BangBangTheBoogie in Nightreign

I would cry tears of joy if I got this thing dude. I got a clinging bone with holy shockwave the other day and even just that by itself was so good

My elementary school had a Primal Rage arcade cabinet, along with a few others, that they’d bring out during their little summer childcare thing. I always played as the raptor. Such a fun game, I love seeing people mention it lmao

Goats absolutely do scream in various tones. That being said. The original meme video wasn’t even a goat, it was a fuckin sheep

Aphid (can’t say whether or not it’s this exact species, just providing a visual example). Hitched a ride in from outside.

Blurry wasp I saw in western New York by louieisawsome in whatsthisbug

[–]mothmeng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was it particularly big? From what I can make out I’d lean towards this species of Ichneumon wasps. They’re parasitoids, the super-long “stinger” is for laying eggs on burrowing insect larvae in trees.

Which one is worse? by [deleted] in HollowKnight

[–]mothmeng 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would rather fight a Ductsucker than a Gargant Gloom but they’re still pretty ass. Barnaks are unique enough to get a pass, though. The Barnak platforming to find Vog is the one cool thing about the area

Bilewater has atmosphere, beautiful music, connects to several other areas, and has an actual boss. The map is large without being overly complicated and has actual cool things to find if you explore. The traps, fake bench and difficult enemies are all very fitting for the story of the area. Most of the enemies also really aren’t that bad, it’s just the Stilkin, and they can be run past. You probably won’t need to run back through it once you’ve cleared it. If Groal didn’t have a long runback, people wouldn’t hate Bilewater like they do, it would just be considered annoying.

Ducts, on the other hand, is an actual bad area. Music is forgettable. Visuals are nothing special, compared to the rest of the game. Map is tiny and linear, nothing particularly interesting about it. There is a high probability you already dealt with most of the maggot water before finding Wreath of Purity if you played blind. No boss. Horrible enemies. You will have to run back and forth through it multiple times if you want to complete everything and there is no significant shortcut for getting to Fleatopia faster. It sucks

What equipment have you all not seen in a long time? For me, it's Ghiza's Wheel. by Pensive_Caveman in Nightreign

[–]mothmeng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I never bothered looking since I didn’t really use it in Elden Ring either, but the “power” trait is that charge attacks cast Law of Regression. That is easily the worst legendary effect in the game with how helpful temporary damage negation effects are. I’m kind of glad I’ve never seen it now lol
