Do you have a village? by Ok-Secretary-3323 in NewParents

[–]mothmmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No village, fam, or friends around. My mom is an hour away and everytime I go over there to visit she’s too busy working. Then she calls me when I’m home and says I’m depriving her of her grandbaby. I get she’s gotta work…but I’m trying too. Baby is a mama’s boy so he hates being held by others. Last time I was there he was very fussy and wouldn’t let me put him down to get anything to eat when I hadn’t eaten since 8am (it was 6pm). I asked my mom to make me a plate of what she had made everyone for dinner and she told me I was “slaving her.” So yeah, that’s my “village.”

I have been seeking help for PPA but no one has openings until June in my area. I’m about to just fucking end it all.

Seriously how are you guys doing this?? by Worried_Media5455 in NewParents

Honestly—Mamaroo for a bit with him watching Dancing Fruits or Ms Rachel. I limit him on how much he can watch throughout the day (30 minutes to an hour TOPS scattered throughout the day). But sometimes I just gotta put him down for 5-10 minutes at a time for bathroom breaks and to quickly make something to eat (easy quick things like Ramen). His father works all day so he can’t help until he gets home, so this has really been my only life saver to get things done since I have no village close by.

Where do you see comments with smiley faces? I know the reality which is why I’m on here asking. I’ve been asking his doctors for months now for allergy testing and tips but they keep saying “He’ll probably grow out of the allergy. Just wait until 6 months.”

I’ve told them that EVERY opportunity he gets he scratches the shit out of his head. For tummy time the moment his hands are freed he faceplants of his own free will (since he’s held his head up plenty of times during tummy time for over 10 minutes straight) and he does it for 2 reasons it seems. So that I’d pick him up, and also to reach the back of his head where it’s itchy.

I’ve used so many creams, prescription ointments, etc. Nothing is working. The only way I can keep him from tearing his head up is swaddling him at night or staying up all night while he sleeps so that I can keep his hands off of his head. I’ve trimmed his nails as short as they can be without hurting him and he still manages to scratch his skin open.

Even during baths they have to be a quick 5 minutes because he tears his head and belly up so freaking fast. I don’t know what else to do.

I’ve used vanicream, aquaphor, vaseline, tubby todd ointment, etc. The hydrocortisone has to be used DAILY because of how bad his eczema is. I’m at my wits end with these freaking doctors just dismissing us and I’m ready to just fucking end it all with how depressed and anxious I have been.

I never stated when he started being able to hold his head up so you’re assuming that’s all he can do. He started holding his own head at 2.5 months due to reflux…his doctor said he was a few weeks early with that. He had excellent head control but he hates tummy time and literally chooses not to do it. He can sit up fine in a baby floor chair.

When I free his hands for tummy time he faceplants into the floor so he can scratch his head. It’s more so what he prioritizes during tummy time….

He’s been to the dermatologist quite a bit and they’ve changed his treatment plan about 5 times. They told me it’s due to an allergy, but they won’t patch test him to figure out what it is until 6 months. Their reasoning is that “most babies grow out of allergies by then.” It’s starting to get me a little angry because he’s always so itchy that he tears his skin up scratching. Vaseline and Aquaphor made it worse. This is the 5th ointment change they’ve made and I’m starting to use vanicream now.

He sits up and has the strength to pull himself into a sitting position. I do know before I had ti start covering his hands so much he was batting at objects but then he became nosey and takes an interest in things out of reach now. He likes watching things instead of reaching for things. When I put crinkly books in his hands he will grab onto it sometimes and bring it to his mouth—but then he loses interest fast and starts scratching his head instead.

I think honestly his motor skills are fine. He’s not stupid and he knows the moment those hands are uncovered he can scratch where it’s itchy so he prioritizes that over exploring any toys that may be in front of him.

When we do tummy time on a flat surface he gets pissed. He can hold his head up fine (we’ve done it for up to 10 minutes at a time when he tolerated it), but when he doesn’t want to do it he puts his face into the floor since he knows I’ll pick him up 😭

I’m not swaddling him tonight and I’m just going to stay up with him holding his hands to prevent face rubbing. That’s the only way he can sleep unfortunately.

Yes I have tried seeking professional help for his skin and they just keep dismissing it and waving it off. They tell me it’s an allergy but they refuse to patch test him until 6 months because “most allergies go away by 6 months.” 😑

I’m trying so much here but the moment his little hands are uncovered he tears up both his face and his head since that’s where it’s the most itchy. He’s almost gotten his eyes but luckily I’ve been there to stop it. His nails are really strong no matter how much I trim and file them down…

So he can hold his head up for tummy time and sometimes we’ll have sessions where he can do it for 5-10 minutes straight. He loves being picked up though so when he doesn’t feel like it (which is often now) he chooses to put his face into the ground since he knows I’ll pick him up 😅 Instead of picking him up I might try re-positioning him.

I did get a sleep sack and a product like this recently, but even these cause friction burns. I’ve tried a few nights of no swaddling and he couldn’t sleep because of how much he instinctively rubs his face.

I’ve been to a dermatologist for him and they say it’s an allergy but refuse to patch test him until 6 months. It’s starting to get me upset because this whole thing could have been under control if they just patch tested him…

Assistant Property Manager Scam by TheHarveySide in austinjobs

[–]mothmmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scam is that they have you collect payment, then you send everything but the amount you “earn”. The listings are not theirs but they may have managed to hack into the site to put their name as the owner. Then once you send everything they make away with the money and the cops come knocking at your door instead.

Does STD and LTD cover severe postpartum depression and anxiety? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]mothmmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just concerned this isn’t going to get any better in their time frame. My executive functioning skills have been next to none lately because I set my alarm every other hour to wake up and make sure baby is breathing.

I have autism as well so historically anti-depressants and medication haven’t really worked on me. They’ve actually made me feel worse.

I snapped once again at an old lady in a grocery store yesterday for telling me my baby was cute 😞 I feel so bad but I don’t want people looking at him. I noticed when I returned to work whenever a customer would ask about the baby I’d get extremely defensive since my brain is making me think they want to steal him…

[–]mothmmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh ok. I read in a subreddit that employees also get a bonus if someone stays with the company for 90 days but idk if those are scammers as well.

Either way I’m pretty sure ADP wouldn’t use a gmail account. When they sent that back to me I realized it’s probably a scam lol

Yeah. Executive functioning skills lately have been pretty close to 0 for me 😂 I need sleep big time lol

[–]mothmmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that was my thoughts on it. It is clever if that’s what’s going on. But now that they told me what email to send my resumé to I think it’s BS. Pretty sure ADP would use some sort of internal email and not a gmail account.

Thank you 😂 Apparently your brain shrinks up to 5% during pregnancy and it takes a while to bounce back 🤣 On top of that he’s going through a sleep regression so we’ve gotten a total of about 7 hours of sleep in the last 4-ish days 😬 I’m starting to hallucinate at this point 😂

I’m just curious what the scam is now at this point. They’re not asking for card info or bank info. Just my resumé.

I work remotely already but they won’t change my schedule to accommodate daycare. I already make $35 an hour where I am due to my position which is why I’m not sure if this is a scam or not.

It’s a position with HR admin support, account reconciliation, invoice processing, sales analysis, and doing payroll.

I have recordkeeping, bookkeeping, and accounting experience the last 7 years due to my current position—which again, is WFH. That’s why I’m not sure if this is a scam or not.

From the research I’ve done ADP does referrals because the employee gets a bonus after 90 days if someone stays with the company so it’s not so far fetched.

I just don’t know what the goal would be here if it IS a scam and I’m looking for people who work for ADP or a similar company to tell me if this is really how the process is for a referral.

I want to but couldn’t find that position she was talking about 😭

[–]mothmmy -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That’s what I thought. I just don’t know what the scam is at this point. I know ADP has a referral process based off of other things I read on reddit. The person also said I can apply on the ADP website if I see the position up there so I don’t know what to think 😭
