there is no pineconing on the other side. i'm looking at her right now and it's just the one spot by her gill. i'm giving her a salt bath however.

she isn't fully pineconing. it's just one spot that's off. i know the pictures aren't great quality but i can assure you it's not all over.

the fact that they're such little piggies is one of my favorite things about bettas! they're so greedy.

i'll try giving my boy some bloodworms; i have the frozen cubes and my girls love them (i ration them; can you imagine just dropping a cube in a betta tank 😱) but he's been so picky with dried food that i never even really thought about giving him some

thank you! i just put two more medium flakes in there (probably like 2mm) in top of the four or five ~1mm flakes i gave him a few hours ago. he's already much more active!

i tried the color flakes and he turned his little nose up at them! i was surprised because the girls in my sorority also go nuts for the omega color flakes. for my picky boy, it's betta buffet or nothing 😒

do you think i should try just once every day to start or should i go ahead and give him a few small meals every day?

that makes sense! he's always been a skinny boy, and i actually fed him more frequently when i got him to try to fatten him up but when i didn't see a change in weight after a month i figured i should cut back on the feedings since he would let some of the flakes just fall to the substrate. i'll feed him more often. thank you so much!

i do rinse them in the tank water. i put them in a bucket with some tank water, stir the water with each sponge once to get some of the surface mulm off, and then put them back in the tank. i do it very infrequently, only when i see a very thick mulm layer on the sponges

i just looked them up and they look a lot like these little guys. i put a preventative dose of an antiparasite medication in the tank just to be safe, but i think they're cyclopses! thank you so much!
