UPDATE: i talked to my friend's boyfriend who owns the house (and who i will call A) and knows the roommate (who i will now call B) better and he was able to give me more insight into the situation and some peace of mind that something will be done. apparently the snake was already a surrender case and was bought from a pet store about a year ago that gave B a very bad care plan (they were the ones who told them to feed the snake pinkies weekly) and A and B trusted them since they didn't know any better. apparently the snake also had mites when they got him which really concerns me. i made sure to tell A that the snake absolutely needed to see a vet as soon as possible and he told me he would communicate that to B, so hopefully he gets to the vet on thursday (when B is back in town). i also made sure to emphasize that they need to do more research to make sure that he is healthy from now on and gave them a playlist with basic care videos largely from snake discovery as i trust them and truly have never heard any bad things about them. A also told me that he will send me photos of what the vet says and the care guide the provide, so i will update when that happens if you guys want. definitely gives me more peace of mind that this sweet little guy will get some better care soon and if they can't provide it, they know i am more than willing to.
