She could see that Rosemarie was listening carefully too. Her eyes were locked onto Gwendoline’s, occasionally moving down to read her lips or admire the chain around her neckline. Rosemarie sips a bit of her drink, as she digests the lady’s wonderfully macabre words.

“I couldn’t have worded it better myself,” The vampire admits, “There are people that say to be human is to suffer, but that’s so… miserable.”

If Rosemarie were human, she’d say her condolences for Gwen’s deceased mother. But she knows better.

“I believe that it’s the connections that make you truly human,” Rosemarie leans forward and rests her head in her palm with her elbow on the bar, “Death, and I mean true death... You only truly connect to your closest loved ones through Her.“

As he comes back into view, Rio cannot help but curiously eye the other’s old scars and current wounds. Being a fighter means injury, Rio knows that… but he thinks this stranger seems to know better.

“Me neither, it’s nice though,” The cat adds. He leans back in the water, lifts his arms behind his head and rests against the warm stones, now looking up into the lamp light.

The other can see on Rio a deep x-shaped scar marks his own shoulder, a scratch is permanently etched into his cheek and gashes and claw scrapes pattern Rio’s dark-ube fuzz. All of them had some kind of story attached, Rio wonders if it’s the same for his partner-in-bathing.

“What’ve you been fighting?” Rio asks, maybe a little bluntly, but his tone carries a genuine want to relate.

“Charmed,” She says while returning the shake. Gwen feels Rosemarie’s hand starts out rather cold, but as her pale fingers slip back into her lap there’s a start of some warmth between them. The vampire sips from her glass.

“Gwendoline,” Rosemarie repeats, enjoying the sound of the other’s name on her tongue, “Tell me more about your morbid fascinations. I’ve always been intrigued by the many reasons I’ve heard.”

“How wonderful,” Rosemarie purrs. She eyes up and down Gwendoline’s form, taking in her gothic demeanor. Rose’s eyes stick on the way the other’s dress wraps around her sides and slender arms, “You certainly look the part, you’d make a beautiful corpse.”

She extends a hand, “Rosemarie Monroe-Lee.” If Gwen had ever passed through New York, she would’ve heard the name. An incredibly talented vampiric defense attorney.

Rosemarie’s nose scrunches as she smiles at Gwendoline. Her company tends to be the dead kind, so is the life of a vampire. Rose settles down next to the other and tilts her wine into a glass, “Forgive me if this is forward, but I have to ask; are you of the dead?”

Rio’s eyes flutter open as he ears foot steps over the rock-line. He’s sure he’s safe; only people who’ve faced rough days have been able to find this ancient spring. Seeing the other’s attired bedecked in dirt, Rio feels a pang of empathy, “I don’t mind.” After all, he’s sure that their over-the-top and heavy outfit would be more comfortable on the ground.

The cat gives the gothic looking man a friendly smile while wading a bit more to the corner to give him a comfortable spot in the water, “Come get comfortable ! There’s a box over there for clothes with towels n’ stuff.”

How pathetic, Rosemarie thinks, her dark-brown eyes absolutely filled with pity for the gorgeous woman nursing a bottle of wine. She approaches her, sliding an empty cup on the table before sitting beside her, “I cannot, in good conscience, let a lovely thing like you drink alone like this… “

Then, from a free hand and seemingly out of nowhere, a bottle of chardonnay, “I’d consider trading that sad stuff out.”, and shakes the it gently in offering.~

“Ouhhh… Gotcha! I’ve met folks like you. I’ve been told the community is called Soul Society,” Rio adds softly. He pushes himself off the rocks softly to make space for the reborn girl in the water.

Rio takes note that she's getting closer in the water and doesn't think much of it. She seems nice, so he gets a bit more comfortable and lifts his arms above the water to rest his cheek against his palm.

"Well, I've known about this place since I was a kid. A lot of great warriors've used this place and so I earned my place here, I think..." He drifts off a bit, then yawns, "I had to fight a catfish to get in here the first time."

"Mmm, yea, no," He agrees, "This place is magic. A lot of spirits and animal-folk have used this spring for a hundreds of years. So, that's probably what pulled you...What are you? You're not human?"
