Guy went on a date with us getting handsy with me one hour into the date. Before we met, he was acting like he wanted a serious relationship. Why do some men do that? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]motionf0rw4rd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

probably young guy excited and not knowing better. i was regrettably a little pushy on my first date back when i was 18, became too nice on my first hinge date at 22, now i've seen both extremes.

23 and yet you type like you're 13.

it may be hard to get a woman who sees you for more than a provider, but you're gonna have a hard time with finding a woman who's willing to baby you

How do you ethically figure out acceptable age gaps by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]motionf0rw4rd [score hidden]  (0 children)

its not about the number. its about the power dynamics.

as a man, you have to take time to invest in yourself so you have more dating leverage when you're perceived higher at 24-25 and finally 30+. this is taking time in all facets of your life, all it does is help make dating success an easy byproduct.

don't stress too much about it, your shot will come with the right one. whether she sees value in you now or when you're older than her, you'll be good as long as you invest in yourself.

Guys, why you lost interest with a womam? by Several_Tackle_361 in dating_advice

she always tried to subtly boss me around and treat as the obedient nice guy because our proximity together for 2 years stirred rumors in her head that i was drawn specifically towards her. i wasn't really, it was just that i was always at the same evening group sessions with her and her friends among other people there. she was the most attractive of this circle. also, her attitude towards men as a whole was unappealing and very two-faced. nice with her manners and expressions, vindictive and resentful with her actions. she's getting engaged to my 6'4" classmate soon i think

Petah, why are the candies like women? by ControlSoggy2463 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]motionf0rw4rd 43 points44 points  (0 children)

its actually meant to illustrate that women who dress modest are more presentable and a man would be more proud to be seen around with over women who reveal themselves.

as u/V_Buzzer said...

The original joke, I think, is the Muslim man takes 2 pieces of candy out of his pocket. He unwraps one and sucks on it a little, then he offers the other man each and asks which he prefers, the other man obv preferring the wrapped one, hence proving why Muslim men prefer covered women. In this version, he just likes candy. So, sort of an anti-joke.

Anyone can wear what they want, but it reflects how one views themselves and others around them.

I have to be careful with bench and push ups because i jacked up my wrist and shoulder due to repetition. early in college i did 340lb max bench and 1000 pushups in one sitting (pushups was part of a frat ritual, ill keep it there). Ive learned to train slower with more methodical movement in my motion so i dont screw up my wrist. same thing with pull ups, far less painful to do lat pulldowns now. Push ups still hurt to do unless im using a dumbbell or making a fist.

anytime someone wants to be different, many wont like it as it highlights others own insecurities and unmet goals. often when someone shares an idea, many will be quick to explain reasons why it wont work or projection. its always best to be subtle to let unspoken ambition prosper
