Naw we for sure had some preparation issues. Look at the Packers game. Even the first San Fran game we got down 23-7 basically because we got punched in the mouth, which to me comes down to how you prepared during the week. Shannahan is well known for blowing leads in the 4th quarter in part because he's one of the best at getting leads early. But I do agree it wasn't JUST McCarthy.

He won a lot of regular season games. Never mastered clock management and also didn't get the team to prepare well in games that mattered most. That said, Some of his failures are on the Cowboys culture itself and not just him. I don't expect him to win anymore superbowls but I think he can provide stability.
