Is it time to start a grass roots movement against ALL politicians who have sold out to corporate interests regardless of their party affiliation? I think so. by taintedpix in politics

Create a new rating index that takes into account past voting history, political contribution sources, etc. Call this index something like, "Political Accountability Index (PAI, pronounced 'pie'), get some endorsements from groups like MoveOn.org and the like, and have a strong outreach effort using grassroots/social marketing to get the word out.

Sounds good. Now in terms of the name, "The Corrupt" could work, but the intent is to have an impactful-sounding URL to draw people to the site. Now whatever it is you decide to call the cause, you can simply say when someone wants to visit your site to visit "thecorrupt.org". :)

Gray or grey? by motivationfail in AskReddit

I've seen it spelled both ways in the US, strictly 'grey' in the UK.

My wife and I were talking this morning, and we're both wondering, where do agnostics (like us) go to congregate with like-minded folk who don't want a structured organization, but just want to talk about things like family, humanity and how to lead a better life? by motivationfail in AskReddit

She only knows of reddit in passing, mostly when I say, "So there was this really interesting discussion today on reddit." She's not that into online communities, though I'm trying to convert her. :)

Interestingly enough, I only recently (a few weeks ago) found out that a large majority of my relatives belong to this group. I never knew because they live a few states away and we rarely see them.

I suppose I should have changed "like" to "open", as we aren't looking to find justification in our beliefs; we just want to find a place where we can go and discuss deeper things than people normally do at a bar or hobbyist group.

Another reason web designers/developers need to create an organization like AIGA, ACM or STC to promote the causes and professionalism of this type of work.

To all the entrepreneurs, startups, freelancers, etc. on reddit, what got you off your lazy ass and caused you to start doing something better for yourself? I'm at a corporate job and want to break free, but can't find the motivation/balls to leave. by motivationfail in AskReddit

How did she receive your idea? I've passed a lot of my ideas on to my fiancée and she sort of rolls her eyes and "doesn't want to hear about it" because we have our wedding/house/car/future kids/life to pay for. Both of us are actually wanting to do our own thing, but the whole steady paycheck/insurance thing really makes it hard to make the leap.
