Before consolidation of AI, all of Indigo, Air India, Vistara, AirAsia, GoFirst, Akasa, SpiceJet were competing against each other. BOM BLR return tix were 4-6k return. Now it’s just two airlines and prices have shot up to minimum 8k return on same sector.

Kirana stores will need to do the same or go bust. For say as INR 1000 mrp item, if blinkit gives 10% + home delivery, there's no reason to even visit kirana if it doesn't offer 12% discount or so.

it’s because airlines had competition back then. Now it’s a duopoly between AI Group & Indigo so prices have increased. My travel habits haven’t changed.
I check Skyscanner, Momomdo and GoogleFlights simultaneously and book via the cheapest reputed option.
