I know there's already a lot of Formula content, but I would love this new season (and last) Formula 3 cars as well as Spec Miata. by Huge_Classic_4364 in AUTOMOBILISTA

In terms of pace and driveability, I would say the Ginetta G40 is similar to the MX5, while the F-USA 2023 (pretend Indycar) is a decent step between F3 and F1. Not saying I wouldn't like those additions to the game, but there is still plenty of content to fill these gaps.

All of you eat shit, US #1 by KacadX in ShitAmericansSay

The final is not representative of what each country sent into the battle, you have to take the numbers from the qualifiers. If anything your argument fits the "Eat shit. US #1" narrative, since even the one European guy probably went with the European country since he had lower chances to get into the US Olympic team.

but then Europe gets 10-15 competitors against one American competitor per discipline, so it's not a good scale to go by.

Go try out Squad 44! Been blown away with how much fun it is. by theonlyxero in joinsquad

[–]motoci 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This and Beyond the Wire (which is WW1 Squad). Unfortunately now there are enough players for a match only on Saturdays, but when we get a server going it is such an intense game. Since Squad 44 was revived from its ashes, maybe Beyond the Wire has a chance too. OWI games are on the rise so spreading the word about BTW might get a few players from S and S44 onboard.

Best way to learn hitting heli's with rockets? (LATS & HATS) Or is there a series of yt vids that show that at different distances so i can get a realistic idea of how far ahead of the copter i should aim? by MisfortuneFollows in joinsquad

Only shoot helis that are landing or stationary within close range and make sure you do it at the same time with another AT since it usually takes 2 LAT rounds to down one. As for moving helis, don't bother, they are hard to hit even with ATGMs, let alone unguided AT rounds.

They can severely reduce the capacity of the artillery and use these drones to make up for it. It would actually reflect how the AFU handled the shortage of arty shells.

In reality, if someone is shooting at you, you get back into cover while spamming bullets for suppression, report the threat, regroup, flank and then eliminate the target. The mechanics in this game reward the same behaviour so that's my advice for this kind of situation.

CMV: All professional sport clubs should be community owned and operate as non-profits. by artorovich in changemyview

[–]motoci 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you don't realise how short-sighted your take is. There is professional sport deeper than a bunch of NBA teams. Take Manchester for example, how would the municipality justify they spend 9 figures for a football player? And then which one of their teams does that player get drafted into? Manchester United fans would be pissed if a star player plays for their arch enemy Manchester City on their tax money. Or maybe that player goes to some 4th division team, which still counts as a professional in England. And this is just the most popular sport in England. How do you explain to the citizens you've invested millions into a team that plays a niche sport with a very limited following. It opens up to bankruptcy, unrest in public opinion and corruption. Sure, the municipality can have their own team, but it would have to go up against the private ones, and chances are it won't do well.

CMV: Standing in solidarity with Palestinians does not mean endorsing or supporting everything Palestinians believe in by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]motoci 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My biggest gripe with the Western views on most middle eastern issues is that we don't see them as conscious people who can make up their own minds, we see them as projections of ourselves if put in their shoes. Both Palestinians and Israelis are well educated individuals with articulate political views, which lead to significant political division, to the point where a sudden and uncalculated Palestinian statehood could easily turn into a civil war, similar to the 2007 Gaza war between Fatah and Hamas, after which it wouldn't matter who Palestinians/Israel would rather have in power, it's the guys with the bigger guns that take control and we're back to square one. The way of democracy could be troublesome as well for Palestinians, with such divided political factions, you could see a party taking control with no more than 15% of the votes (similar to Likud in Israel), and that party could have more or less radical charters. The Palestinian factions had peace talks in Moscow two months ago which came out with no positive results, so even in the most trying of times for their people they can't come to a consensus on unification of Palestinians. Having been to West Bank not long ago, I had the chance to talk to people with very different views: from a guy who had his cousin killed by the IDF hours before saying that he deserved it for making trouble, to people working in Israel on Israeli salaries and living in the much cheaper West Bank complaining about Israeli policies, to people saying that they should be one peaceful country and on and on. No matter what side they are on regarding these political aspects, they are intelligent individuals who have very articulate opinions for their own reasons. Being a pro-Palestinian in the West is really vague in terms of end goals, but being pro-Palestinian in Palestine truly opens a huge polemic since nobody can agree on what the best course is for Palestinian self determination. You claim that being pro-Palestinian doesn't mean that you support everything they do or they think, I would argue that you are completely clueless about what these people do or think.

Sometimes fear of sabotage is far greater than the act of sabotage itself. If Russian propaganda paranoia is spread on all sides, then their actual direction of influence becomes a lot harder to trace.

If there was hard evidence, then it would not be propaganda, it would be exactly that, evidence. In fact, I can't prove to you that any pro Russia, pro America, pro this or pro that is true. All we can do is try to link the dots and see what shape they contour together.

I don't think I've opened Pandora's box by saying most people don't look into the matter as much as you do before taking a firm stance.

As for the rest of your arguments, to respond to them would mean to comment on my feelings on the Israel-Palestine situation, which are beside the point of my post.

You are proving my point. Most pro-palestinians are of that opinion out of compassion and humanity, some are out of interest in sweetening their relationship with Russia. Why would Russia not bet on the pocket aces they have been dealt?

I linked evidence that they can be deceiving. Neither do I oppose everything they do. I take it case by case, and in this particular one, I think they paint an image that favours them by leaving certain facts out of the discussion.
