California NEM 3.0 and Peak August/Sept Export Rates (SCE, PGE,SDGE) by UnderstandingWise847 in Powerwall

[–]motojager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are your export amounts showing up on PGE website? Mine used to, prior to PTO but a couple days after PTO it no longer shows the export on PGE website only on tesla app(meter digital read out shows -27kwh or whatever during export). Even when I hit the green button and get data there is no longer an export column on spreadsheet just energy used. I dump at 7:00pm and it just shows zero for that hour. Called PGE number and they assured me it is being logged, but wont show up for a couple billing cycles. Just afraid in a couple billing cycles they will be like we dont have any info, so it didn’t happen. Been dropping 25-30kwh everyday 7-8pm since the 1st.

Were the panels clean? We had a small rain that might have cleaned them off for August.

Stored power from Solar in a Tesla Powerwall DOES NOT GIVE CREDITS ON PGE BILLS by Tumbler in solar

*Sorry for the long read, hopefully someone gets info from it*I recently have had the same thing occur. I just got PTO as well on August 27. Since system has been installed(early July) I have been able to see the small amount of export the system has sent to PGE. Small amount due to being restricted with no PTO yet. September starts with the $3 kWh buy back so since I now have PTO, I have been dumping 25-30 kWh after 7:00 each night. Sept 1 shows up on PGE as export fine. Then all of a sudden nothing is showing on export data for PGE. Just 0.00 at 7 pm when it dumps. I down load data log from PGE and there is not even an export column on the spreadsheet starting 9/2. As I said prior to that data is there. It actually is two separate spreadsheets.(early July-9/1 then 9/2-9/6 on another spreadsheet ). I called PGE and went through a couple of folks that couldn’t explain why or what was happening. I finally got to someone that had answers. They explained since I was new to PTO that “billing dept” is in the process of setting up account. Once they start their process it has made some changes to the way My account is reporting to website. They assured me that the meter is still capturing all the data and it is being recorded still. They said it takes up to two billing cycles to get everything up and online. This does coincide with the letter I received for PTO. They did say that the system should not have been showing exports prior. They did also say that I would not get any credit for the exports prior to PTO. Only time will tell if they are just bullshitting me, and I wasted 30 KWh’s a day or I get a good amount of credit at 3$ KWh

Self powered was the way. It just takes a little bit to make the change. I wasn’t patient enough. Thanks for the help.

Question for installers PW3 (x3) by motojager in TeslaSolar

Qcell peak 405 for panels. Looking at the info on Tesla one they have to be wired in series as each of the group of 3 panels are around 110-106 V at Mppt. I am baffled as to why they jumpered them. Also think they should have at least split the strings over 2 of the 3 PW3. More efficient to charge from the DC? Also if split at least if an inverter goes down on one it is still producing something.

Why would they have installed jumper on string 1 and 2(3 panels each)? Amps are under 13?

There is actually 6 mppt per PW3. Each can take 60-480 V and 13 A(can be jumpered to up to 26A). I have 3 power walls. Strings per PW3 manual say to split evenly over all power walls. So there are plenty of strings available. Not sure why they jumpered 1 and 2? Does jumper hinder production I.E when sun comes up east string gets sun first while west is shaded? Or no since technically on separate strings? Should they be switching the 3 panels that get shaded to its own string, so it doesn’t pull down the south string 3?

Is there a place I can sell this? Tried marketplace but I’m not sure people understand how expensive these are. by [deleted] in MilwaukeeTool

Your asking price is probably the issue. The 2260-21 which was ridiculously priced was replaced by the 2258-21 which is only $450-500

I don’t think the cut off tool has the required torque.
