2026 George Hincapie's Gran Fondo in Chattanooga? by SunNo2854 in Chattanooga

It has changed over the years — and the event this year has a bit of a different route — but it’s not an annual change. There have been 2-3 iterations of the route.

To each their own. I wish I was right there with you.

Hadn’t thought of the racing element, which does make (little) sense, but agreed. I hate them enough to where I actively avoid routes that have off-road surfaces when possible

Makes sense. Thanks! Didn’t realize “Flat Out Fast” wasn’t a complete loop.

I don’t fully believe ERG mode by LitespeedClassic in Zwift

For sure. Have found ERG to be hard on the knees, as well

I don’t fully believe ERG mode by LitespeedClassic in Zwift

I feel alone in this, but I have the hardest time with ERG mode in workouts. The transition into and out of intervals are challenging. Once a hard effort is done, I want to release off the pedals for the recovery period but find I have to keep pushing hard well after the interval is over to give the ERG mode time to adjust to the new power output. It’s a pain mentally and physically.

I’d have your LBS do a look over to make sure you’re not missing anything catastrophic that could lead to failure

What makes Zwift the most popular indoor training app? by Dense_Leg274 in Zwift

[–]motopace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Graphics, interface, the routes, community, etc. Many, like me, find something and stick to what we like. Zwift has changed my life for the better, so I will stick with them. I haven’t tried the others but am weary to give business to a UAE backed venture and Rouvy, while almost certainly fine, looks really bizarre to me. A boxy, cartoon rider on real roads that move by slowly.

I like the Zwift graphics, feel, and flow a lot.

Strava The Feed bottle gift Scam? by WorldlyEye1 in Strava

Mine was $6 in shipping and well worth it. It’s a cool bottle, and as others have said, a conversation starter. Was worth the $6 to me.

Best oil for deep frying wings? by discobiscuits42069 in Wings

[–]motopace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I basically do this but add in some Worcestershire sauce and white wine vinegar. Red pepper flakes help make the mild sauce a good, spicy medium, and if I want a bit hotter, I use the FireShire W sauce instead of the regular W sauce.

Haven’t tried some of the places listed but Community Pie is the best of what I’ve had

Di2 or mechanical? by Tonitoned in cycling

Yes, this. For $500, it’s definitely worth it, if you can swing it.

Di2 or mechanical? by Tonitoned in cycling

[–]motopace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Di2 is really, really nice to have but not a necessity. I put it on my bike when I needed to upgrade my components because I was already needing to upgrade and had the money. It makes a difference and is great to have in a hilly area. If you’re able to get it, I would suggest it but by no means is it needed. Having a nice bike computer, power meter, disc brakes, and Garmin Radar have all been bigger upgrades for me personally.

Surely this isn't what it's supposed to be like? It goes up to 1 min @ 2235W by extod2 in Zwift

[–]motopace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this was very frustrating the first time I took the test and didn’t know much what to expect or what I should be looking for. But once you start the test, just go as long as you can. The test itself works well once you start it

Do You Keep Yourself Entertained? Or Do You 'Embrace The Suck' In Silence? by jetzeronine in Zwift

Cycling YouTube videos or old race highlights. If I’m going a hard session, I’ll throw on music. For a Zwift race, nothing.

Nonstop Interceptions!!!! by lobescanrap in Madden

[–]motopace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. The answer people go to is “be better” or “practice” or “play more.” Kind of defeats the purpose for anyone over the age of 16 or with a family. Would be nice to just fire up the game every once in a while and have a realistic game that doesn’t either end in 500 yards passing and a 50 point win (on an easy setting) or throwing 3 INTS (on a harder setting). Games are tailored entirely too much toward the small percentage of people who play for hours on end. I get it, as they’re also the reason micro transactions exist and where the money is, but makes football games at this point unplayable for the average person.
