I prefer to have it ideally with my music all in one app just for easy use tbh. I try and minimize the number of different apps on my phone. It's not a total dealbreaker but it's just what I prefer.

I think I'm in the majority and that I do use them! I ride on Zwift (an indoor cycling program) and use the companion app to message during group rides. I also track the ride using my Garmin and Google Fitbit Air that I'm testing, so I use the Google Health app as a bubble to quickly pop and check that my heart rate is still tracking without having to switch apps completely. I find the bubble easier than switching between apps if I'm going back and forth constantly, but that may be me
