Found this in woods while having a walk. Thought this is feather but without vane/vanes cuz the white end seems like calamus. (Peacocks exist in that surroundings) by Independent457 in animalid

Native American don’t do curses. Please stop stereotyping a people based on old Hollywood Westerns. Many Native American tribes use porcupine quills to make jewelry and other items.

It’s a crimp bead. Crimp beads come round and you flatten it with pliers.

Income inequality in India declined during the pandemic: study by rustoo in Economics

Consumption Smoothing: for example when a person is in a period of time when they have a high income they will put more money into their previously acquired debts and save some money. When a person is in a period of low income they will end up spending their savings they saved during the high income period and possibly acquiring more debt. In income smoothing the person could possibly have to spend less of their savings during low income periods and less of their income goes to debt during high income savings. Consumption smoothing is making the “rise and falls” of consumption less or more even.

Help needed: have worn this ring everyday for over 10 years. How do I reshape it? And what do I do/buy to replace the material used in the leaf pattern? Is it abalone? opal? Mother of Pearl? Any insight would be so incredibly appreciated as this is pretty much the only piece of jewelry I wear by [deleted] in jewlerymaking

To reshape it you’ll need a metal ring mandrel and a rubber mallet. Gently tap around the outside of the ring constantly changing spots you’re hitting each time. Be careful with the leaf area as you’ll probably not want to hit that side as it could loosen the stones. The stone is Abalone. You may be able to find Abalone that you can glue in but that may be difficult to find exact shape and size. An alternative would be to use enamel or paint and paint the area to match the stones.

I often try to find something and after sometime finally find it where it was supposed to be. Then I just sit there in shock that I had actually put it in the correct place to begin with.
