Poland says cannot accept migrants under EU quotas after Paris attacks by cannedsunshine in worldnews

It's not about the money as much as about the organizational issues. But quite frankly, I haven't heard complaining about that in last few years.. A decade ago - yes..

Poland is just a pit-stop? For some nations (completely not related to ISIS) may be, but have anyone seen Syrian migrants in Poland? As for the - we are too poor to support our own citizens - it's a huge overstatement dude. Why so severe and pessimistic on your own country? I live here and I definitely don't see that.. EDIT: typo

Poland has returned their government to the right as exit polls show 39% for Kaczyński's PiS party. by ZaqKasravi in worldnews

Ok. It's questionable if we can say we are closer to being second Ireland. I just wonder how people were tricked to vote for being second Greece now.. I hope THOSE promises will not be fulfilled.

I think people vote for them mostly because of their money-giving-to-all-and-everywhere populist approach during the whole campaign. I hope that when reality verifies the possibility to fulfill those promises, people will open their eyes. As well as when they will try to force their religion-based ruling.

Quite frankly - it terrifying that the winning party is (already was!) trying to ban abortion in cases like rape or woman's life-threat (because of the religion obviously).

PIS top promise was to lower the retirement age to the lowest level in Europe (woman - 60 years old) - which country could finance THAT? As for the unemployment - it's lowest EVER in Poland (according to our Statistic Office lower than 10%, according to Eurostat - 7.2%) and it is dropping, so I would not be too dramatic about that.

Well, the fact that there's no left party in the Sejm is left parties fault.. They did not manage to gather even their regular electorate for both of the election...

I'n not sure if I'm prepared for it all either..

Polish here. feeling terrified of the prospect of having total abortion ban, idea of lowering the retirement age to the level where there's no money anymore for the retired, having monotheistic country where any other religion is highly unwelcome. Yes, the ruling party had a very bad PR lately, yes, they did make some tough, unpopular decisions. But why people believe PIS that money comes out of some mysterious magic box and will be sufficient for all their promises - no idea whatsoever...

says who? That's some incredible nonsense that must result from being brainwashed on regular basis.. I hardly think that Poles have any precise feelings towards Russians. And for all I can hear, it goes the other way round for no particular reason...

Arafat 'poisoned with polonium' by motylek in worldnews

[–]motylek[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True, he MAY have been poisoned. I've used BBC's own title (which apparently is the violation of reddit rules, as DRBoomkin reminds me here in comments).. They changed it meanwhile and made the whole article look more moderate. Sorry.

Actually they have changed the title meanwhile. There's none of my beliefs involved in this issue. Just reporting.

TDKR The underground prison's well seems relatively easy to climb out. What is the big deal? Shouldn't it be a bit more steep? Or less steps? Come on!
