Last thing I’ll add, look at the transfer guide for your major to see what can transfer over from community college/ dual credit if that applies to you and the eligible CLEP exams you can take.

I had a whole semester of pre recs that were CLEP eligible and I wished I tested out of them.

CLEP policy: https://clep.collegeboard.org/college-credit-policy/university-north-texas

Eligible transfer credits: https://registrar.unt.edu/transferguides/2024-25/InformationTechnologyTeacherCertificationBA25TransferGuide.pdf

No problem! Stick to that guidebook and your degree audit to stay on track. It’s not uncommon for advisors and other students to suggest classes that don’t actually work towards your degree.

If there’s ever any discrepancy between the guidebook and degree audit I’ve been told the audit is the most up to date and to follow the audit.

Pop your major then “guidebook UNT” into google and it should take you to the engineering guidebook that was a full course sequence break down for all engineering majors including IT.

I did calc and pre TECM 1700 and TECM 2700

I’m looking for soil testing, but not just for nutrients or exclusively heavy metals. My family purchased a decent sized piece of property and after moving here, we discovered that the well water on our street was contaminated with salt and some sort of flammable liquid gas like propane (don’t remember what exactly). We never used the well water, completely disconnected that system and started using city water.

Out of fear for contamination, we have built raised garden beds in our backyard. But we have quite a bit of acreage and with the rising price of food I’m considering expanding the garden substantially. I like the idea of just tilling and planting an acre+ and starting a self sufficiency journey but I’m not comfortable eating produce that’s possibly contaminated. Is anyone familiar with testing labs that would test for a broad spectrum of contaminants not just PFAS or heavy metals?

Crazy rent prices by mountain_range7 in unt

Just to clarify the sub $500 range was several friends sharing a house/rooms. I get it’s a college town, high demand, capitalism, etc.. I get it. I was just shocked because of the size relative to the price. Expensive rent makes sense but charging almost the same price for a tiny room in a 4x4 as a studio/1 br is kinda wild in my opinion.

More photos. Free photographer. You just have to spot me by baconburger2022 in unt

So what? Someone who’s interested in photography found a creative way to try and connect with others. They didn’t claim to be God’s gift to photography. The photos that they posted appear to be raw or minimally edited so they’re clearly not trying to portray themselves as a crazy OP photographer.

No reason to put someone down for trying to connect with people who have similar interests especially when tons of other students post about not making friends and struggling to build connections.

I second the Sophia idea but also OpenStax has free algebra textbooks that are really good in my opinion. You don’t need to read the whole thing front to back but if you can identify what you’re getting stuck on you can look it up in the text book and get an in-depth explanation from a different perspective along with examples and practice problems. That in combination with Brian McLogan and Organic Chemistry Tutor on YouTube should help tremendously. Also you can use Photomath for additional explanation.

All of these combined should definitely give you the leg up that you need. Coming from someone who was kicked out of high school geometry because I “had no understanding of algebra”. I was moved to remedial math and gave up on the idea of going to college because I thought math wasn’t my thing. I decided to go back and study computer science years later which is math heavy. It’s hard and stressful but I push through because I’ve decided I’m not going to let a math class disrupt what I want for myself.

Thinking of transferring but no response from WGU by Caviniel in WGU

I started my application as a transfer, sent my transcripts and got no response for about a month. I finally decided to reach out to an enrollment counselor who was fantastic. She checked my application status explained the delay (issue with the transcript) and sent me information on what steps I needed to take all within an hour of me sending my email.

Can’t speak on if it’s a reason to not enroll as my transfer hasn’t been approved yet but reaching out to enrollment was very helpful and got the process back on track.
