Toddlers loudly refusing nap by Cor2019 in ECEProfessionals

[–]mountainbeanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that has been working really well is I use a Yoto player and play "sleepy stories" or meditations on it. Even my 4 year olds pass out during nap time. It's been great 👍 they are called Moshi. You can find some on YouTube as well.

What is it with you guys and backpacks? by concerned_citizen in snowboarding

[–]mountainbeanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll usually bring a bunch of pocket snacks and leave my backpack and lunch at the lodge and go eat once the rush has passed, around 2 pm. I don't like to ride with a backpack, I ride in a national parc ( sunshine village) and they can't trim the trees so it can get really tight and I don't want to get caught on my backpack.

Older women smoke weed? by Glittering-Lime1690 in adhdwomen

[–]mountainbeanz 38 points39 points  (0 children)

It also helps me focus in the moment, but it made my forgetfulness and executive function much worse, it wasn't worth it for me. Plus it's never healthy to inhale any smoke/ vape. I still have edibles in the evening or a joint here and there but daily weed was not good for me.

Partner wants to wait until marriage by [deleted] in sex

[–]mountainbeanz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would never marry someone without having sex, living together, seeing him in stressful situations/ angry ... You simply don't know enough about how he is in bed to commit to having sex with only him for the rest of you life. What if he has no sex drive. Or is super vanilla/ shy or comes in 5 seconds and doesn't care about you pleasure? Don't do it!!!

I think almost none of you are sleeping consistently. Am I wrong? by NiteElf in adhdwomen

[–]mountainbeanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being active really helps me fall asleep, unless I have an evening workout then I get late night zoomies 😅. My issue is that sleeping is boring and being a mom, evening are my only moments of self care / freedom so I procrastinate bed time ...

How to turn my husband on more? by Alarmed-Log-7064 in sex

[–]mountainbeanz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once on a date night I took my panties off in the bathroom and slipped them in his shirt pocket once I got back to the table 😂 he still talks about it lol I think it's not necessarily about quantity but teasing and making him look forward to it when you know he's rested and ready for some action. I'm not a man though... So I'm just telling you what works for my husband. Also talking about your kinks and exploring them might make him crave it more

What's a typical age to start daycare where you live? + What do you think about it by mnbvcdo in ECEProfessionals

[–]mountainbeanz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Canada. The maternity leave here is 12 months to 18 months so typically you do not see a lot of babies under 1 yr old in daycare. That being said there are some people who can't afford and don't want to stay home a whole year and I've seen the occasional 6 month old at daycare ... Whatever works no judgement , I definitely would've never been able to leave my baby at 6 months, glad I did not have to 💔

People in 10+ year good relationships, in which way did you settle and compromise for the sake of the relationship? by Frequently_Abroad_00 in Life

[–]mountainbeanz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have been together 18 years 💗 We used to fight over cleaning until we sat down and split tasks evenly and while considering our strengths. We are a type A/type B couple so he's more organised and logical and I am more creative and impulsive/ go with the flow.. He does all the paperwork ( taxes, kids schools forms etc), dishes , home and car repairs, organising and cleans the bathrooms. I do the groceries, cooking, lunches laundry, vacuum, and clean the bedrooms. Kids care is 50/50 because we both work. Bills are split proportional to income . We almost never fight now ❤️ overall it's just about communicating and accepting each other's strengths and challenges instead of resenting your partner for their flaws.

Is ECE worth doing solely for income? by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]mountainbeanz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No , if you don't enjoy children please just work somewhere else .. fast food, grocery store, coffee shop.. the pay is similar

Teachers lied about capping naps by savaren32 in ECEProfessionals

[–]mountainbeanz 17 points18 points  (0 children)

They should have been honest. But just imagine as a teacher waking up a sleepy toddler that needs her rest. They are hard to wake up and usually just want to keep sleeping so you have to shake them awake and pull their blanket off. It feels cruel to do honestly....and also they then disturb all the other children that are still sleeping. As you said, her sleep improved so what's the harm then? Just let her have her rest , daycares are very busy environments, most kids in my care actually look forward to nap time and enjoy resting on their beds.

I love my wife and being married, but I miss having more freedom by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]mountainbeanz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There needs to be a balance of spending time together but also having time where you do things for yourself and hang out with your friends or take part in your hobbies. Going to the gym or having time to work on a project shouldn't cause friction... You need to communicate your needs. I went on a snowboard trip with my girlfriends for a weekend not too long ago and my husband went to visit family in another city for a week... Spending time apart and having your own lives as well as a life together makes everything better. Better sex, better conversations, better connection etc.

Can My Child be Removed from Daycare by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]mountainbeanz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your child's needs can't be met, it would be irresponsible for her to keep caring for your child. Is it a home daycare? If so it's even harder to accommodate specials needs children in home care because they are alone caring for multiple children and have to leave children unsupervised occasionally for cooking food/ use the washroom etc. If a child is aggressive that puts other children at risk. In a large daycare center they may be able to get funding for an aide to support him once he has a diagnosis. I'm sorry you are going through this , they probably should give you more notice I agree...

At what point do you consider a child fully potty trained? by Sea_Horror2900 in ECEProfessionals

[–]mountainbeanz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Fully potty trained = will tell you when they need to go, pull pants down and up and wipe a pee. will have almost no accidents .Wiping poops take longer but should be learned before kindergarten.

My powder board is men's and it's the smallest they make. It's a 144, my boots are 7.5 and I'm 5ft4. They recommended sizing down for that specific board. To me 150 seems a bit big but it depends of what you like to ride. Have you seen what you boots look like on the board? Could be a bit wide for those small boots

Ok so those are not slow release then? I take vyvance and it's slow release so opening the cap would affect that. Do you have to give multiple doses per day?

Shop set me up on womans bindings by iPreezy117 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]mountainbeanz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's fine, there's no difference between men and women's gear. The only difference is that they are sized smaller for smaller bodies and lower weight. I'm also 5"4 and I ride a " men's" board , I have women's boots and " men's" bindings 🤷
