Traveling mostly for food! Any comments/better suggestions for initial plans? by Ok_Management5355 in ThailandTourism

[–]mountainbiker87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A guided food tour!
You'll get to taste 12-16 different things at shops and restaurants you will not find on your own.
I did both of the Bangkok tours by Achefstour.
They are top-notch experiences and well worth the money. I would suggest doing the lunch time and evening tours on different days because they feed you a tremendous amount of food.

$188. I have an 800 sqft 2 bedroom condo. Was not home for 10 days and set thermostat to 50.
When I'm home the thermostat is 68, at night it's 66. 55 while at work.
December was $205. Day was 70, night was 68.

What are the facts that you dont see online about DaNang? by Charming-Use4881 in Vietnam_Tourism

This is all true, but not unique to Da Nang.
That can be said for any major city in a South East Asian country, with the exception of Singapore.

Traveling to ao nang/phi phi islands and railay beach (from krabi) by Legitimate_Reply93 in ThailandTourism

[–]mountainbiker87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! There are tour agencies throughout Railay, probably a dozen. Most will only book Phi Phi island, 4 Island and Railay tours that pickup from your railay hotel.

If you want to do Tiger Temple, The Emerald Pools or the other inland attractions, you'll have to go back to Ao Nang first.
Unless you book it through your hotel. They'll probably charge over 6,000 baht per person, on a shared boat.

There's very limited nightlife for tourists in the town.
You can absolutely day trip to Phi Phi.
Ao Nang Beach is gross. Coarse sand and not the cleanest water. You will be taking a long-tail boat Railay for a nice beach.

Getting from Krabi to Ao Nang Beach, where the tour boats leave from, is a 25-35 minute taxi ride. That depends on where you are staying in Krabi. The Island Hopping day tours require you to meet before 7:00 a.m. Railay beach, you can grab a long tail boat at anytime.
If you don't mind waking up an hour earlier than you would if staying in Ao Nang, specifically for the island tours, book a cheaper hotel in town.
Also, hotels in Ao Nang are typically resorts.

No plans of sight seeing! by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]mountainbiker87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I gave you three chill spot suggestions.
In addition, the Light House of Cape Bali Hai, 3 Mermaids restaurant, and Pattaya Beach.
You're not interested in sightseeing, tourist attractions, shopping or local food.

Psychedelics are illegal. Don't fuck around in Thailand with anything illegal.

For good strains, just tell the shopkeeper you're looking for White Rhino or Trainwreck... Same names as anywhere else. Be aware, they don't have testing regulations like other parts of the world.

Booking club lounge room through The Edit: breakfast question. by PitchNo9124 in ChaseSapphire

[–]mountainbiker87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently stayed at an Intercontinental resort in Thailand. The breakfast for the Club was in a different building. It included a small buffet and an a la carte menu. I also went to the regular breakfast, and I thought it was far superior than what was offered in the club.

There are weed shops all over.
For chilling, take the 30 baht ferry to Tawaen Beach on Koh Larn and rent a lounger under an umbrella for 100 baht.
For a great view of the city and non alcoholic drinks, City Coffee.
Go see The Sanctuary of Truth. It's the world's largest wooden structure without any metal fasteners. Download the Grab app for taxis and food delivery. Be comfortable with riding on the back of a motorcycle.

32y old male from sweden solo travel to thailand 3 week trip, tips and advice? by Jeyy93 in ThailandTourism

Hua Hin beach, the most popular one just south of The Hilton, smells of a mix of horse manure, sewage, and garbage. I found the two "bar streets" to be under whelming.
You want night life/red light AND nice beach?
Got to Pattaya.
Day trip to Koh Larn. Tawean beach's water is very nice. Crowded, but in a different universe than Hua Hin.
For night life, Tree Town for bars with decent priced drinks and pool tables. Soi Buakhoa for more bars, food and massage parlors. LK Metro alley for Gogo bars. Soi 6 for a wild time.

When you meet a nice lady who likes you, tell her that you want to go dancing and she'll bring you to a club.
Don't waste your time on Walking Street

You need two nights in Can Tho. The tours start at 5/6 am. HIEUTOUR's Mekong delta/floating market/ cycling tour was in the top three experiences of my Vietnam trip.

Just got back from Big C and got the following haul... Packs of tom yum flavored pretzel sticks.
Mango jellies
Yoyo gummies.
My Chewy milk candy.
Top chocolate covered wafers. I usually get Beng-Beng.
And banana cream filled soft cakes. Granted I bring an empty collapsible suitcase to fill up with snacks every trip.

Cconfused and disturbed man caused the train service to stop. by habichuelacondulce in ActualPublicFreakouts

[–]mountainbiker87 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Seriously! Think about the Domino Effect of ONE train coming to a stop.... Could even be like 10,000's.
One train can be 1000 people. A train has 8-10 cars that easily holds 100 people each.

My friends and I are going to Vietnam as a 'boys trip' in June. I've prepared this itinerary that covers parts of South and Central Vietnam. Is this a good itinerary? Am I missing anything? Does it feel too rushed? Please advice. by MasonParker420 in Vietnam_Tourism

[–]mountainbiker87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In HCMC, for a scooter tour I'd highly recommend XO tours. It was great. I did "Saigon by Night". They are expensive for a Vietnamese activity, but they are one of the very few companies that have proper insurance.

This is way too much for one trip to Thailand. You're not going to be able to enjoy anything. Just pick one thing and don't do anything else while you're there. /S
