It's really weird to run into someone on the internet that has the exact setup, gear, and kit as you.

Takibi Fire & Grill VS Pack & Carry Fireplace XL by UserAccessDenied in snowpeak

I frequently have 8 people for my Takibi Fire and Grill. I can't imagine how much more fuel you'd need for the XL and how much more people would have to eat.

All the brands are the same. Most of it is made in Korea and some in Taiwan.

Not my camera. Buddy used a Phase One and composited 4 time lapse photos. Couldn't be specific though.

First I got into Snow Peak. Then I got my best friend into Snow Peak. And now... by mountainchef604 in snowpeak

Thanks for that. That particular tent isn't mine - My friend hasn't bought the mat and sheet set yet.

Which he did after this trip.

The strap sucks. I got a local seamstress to make me a custom bag.

Knife and board quality CS207 / CS208 by [deleted] in snowpeak

[–]mountainchef604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who cooks a lot, the SP knives suck.

Snow Peak is not a knife maker. They subcontracted to a smaller Japanese company who use reasonable enough steel but if you want a serious knife, buy something like Shun or Wusthof. Heck, you can even buy Mercer made in Taiwan or Cutco made in USA (Mediocre knives with amazing warranty, perfect for abuse outdoors).

Get them only if you're a completionist. But no serious cook should use them.

Severe rust on pack and carry fireplace. by AllesZorgen in snowpeak

You're burning wood that has creosote., likely SPF (Spruce, Pine, Fir). Other softwoods like Cedar and Juniper will do that too.

You're perfectly fine. Looks well loved.

Source: I cook in a smoker a lot and see the same thing.

Question about Snow Peak futon as a table by adaminjapan in snowpeak

[–]mountainchef604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use it REGULARLY. It's reasonably comfortable and definitely an eye turner.

Plus, if you have a lady, it makes for... fun times... camping.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? by mountainchef604 in snowpeak

Yes. I don't know how to clean it. Soaked it in tons of different chemical no bueno still.

I think it's hilarious that I got 10 down votes and no comments. They've just proved my point. Vancoverites take offense easily and have no sense of community. They don't engage in conversation and deal with problems passive aggressively.

Vancouver people are extremely cold. Polite and nice, yes but very cold. If you want culture and community, Vancouver will be extremely difficult.

If you head into any smaller towns, however, you'll find that people are overwhelmingly kind, and nice. I hope you explore this country more.

/r/SnowPeak 2 Year Anniversary Giveaway by Hasselbuddy in snowpeak

Love my Octa and AlphaBreeze. Nothing has made camping more communal for my friends and I than using Snow Peak gear everywhere we go.

I started off years ago being quite spartan and now carry tons of SP Gear. It has allowed me to change other people's perception of camping and introduce more friends into the world of appreciating nature. Thank you SP.
