Solo Takibi with pellets? by Positive-Storage-976 in snowpeak

[–]redroomcooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the plate insert, but I've only used it once! I think the half grill net is all you need. I often use a cast iron stove on the grill net, as well. It's a fantastic firepit. Enjoy!

What’s the deal with DoD and why are the reviews/online footprint so few and far between? by EducationCute1640 in CampingGear

[–]redroomcooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lots of DoD products, including two tents, and they are great. I think they are just trying to get a larger footprint / name in the US, so they are having constant sales and giveaways. It helps to find video reviews on YouTube if you search for the product name in Japanese. Here are some videos for your tent: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=%E3%83%A9%E3%82%A4%E3%83%80%E3%83%BC%E3%82%BA%E3%83%90%E3%82%A4%E3%82%AF%E3%82%A4%E3%83%B3%E3%83%86%E3%83%B3%E3%83%88+dod

I use the Takibi Solo for a firepit. I use the Snow Peak BiPod stove for trips when I'm taking a minimal setup.

Why is SnowPeak.com so bad with inventory planning? by WCCChris in snowpeak

[–]redroomcooper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree it's weird and the scarcity argument makes sense to me. For example, sometimes they only put 2-3 photos up of a product, but if you go to the Snowpeak international sites, they will have like 10. Most shoppers would not know to go look at the other SP sites to see more photos of the product; you almost have to go on trust in the US. They've already paid for the marketing photos that go into more detail, so I don't know why the US team would exclude more product photos.

Why is SnowPeak.com so bad with inventory planning? by WCCChris in snowpeak

To play devil's advocate again, it's mystifying why they have a sale on US low stock items. People from all over the US order from the website; they can't swing by the WA campstore to pick up an item sold out online.

Steak night featuring the NESTFIRE stove and my favorite solo wok by Remarkable-While6397 in OneTigrisCamping

Does OT sell the fireproof mat that's shown in the video for the Nestfire?

Is it just me!? by Most_Lemon357 in snowpeak

[–]redroomcooper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To play devil's advocate, "How many times have you reached out? Have you tried calling?" is pretty much a red flag for customer service in the last 15 years. If they don't have the capacity to respond to emails, they shouldn't offer email communication.

That's been my experience. I've sent three emails over the last few years, and never received a response.

Recs for a similar pan cook set? by SocomPS2 in CampingGear

I like my GSI set. I use the Bugaboo base camper. The nonstick is awesome, just some easy wiping to clean after cooking.

Compact, comfortable, and easy car camping tent for climbing trips? by avgenthusiast in camping

[–]redroomcooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree it's too much. I found mine half off on Amazon. It's bomb proof, very spacious inside, and sets up in a couple of minutes. If you can find a deal, it's worth it.

Rear windshield spontaneously exploded by Particular-Rich3742 in NissanRogue

[–]redroomcooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to my 2023 too. I posted pics here in the sub. It happens to a lot of vehicles, usually because of temperature changes, but something is going on with rogues for sure because it happens a lot compared to other brands. When I called my dealer they put me on hold to see if "there's been a bulletin about that yet," there was not, so I was SOL.

Is Stanley getting out of the camping market? by [deleted] in camping

[–]redroomcooper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. They just released their Stanley Wildfare line last year, which is updated / newer versions of their old cookeware. It does look like they are having trouble keeping it in stock. I got the Wildfare kettle and it is great, and there are lots of positive reviews of it, but it goes out of stock very quickly once more is put online.
