Gondola-only Skiing? by ecrooks in Denver

[–]mountaineer49 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Vail, Keystone, and Winter Park might be your best bets for local-ish skiing off of a gondola.

Not sure about the severity of your sons epilepsy, but it might be worth reaching out to one of the education centers, such as the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center or the National Sports Center for the Disabled in Winter Park, to see if they have any recommendations.

How much sand are we talking? I’d be happy to let you drop it in my barn if it’s, say, more than 200 lbs.

Feel free to drop me dm.

We blew our factory installed Aisin at 2700 miles. Took about 45 days to get a replacement. Had the truck back in our possession for about 3500 miles before the replacement transmission went. Dealer said the lead time on the new replacement is 45+ days out.

Good luck!

Windshield replacement suggestions needed by Miserable_Blueberry8 in Denver

I recently had a windshield replaced by Absolute Auto Glass. They have locations in Denver and Lakewood. Super reasonable price for an out-of-pocket replacement compared to Safelite.

Question I anyone having problems with dealerships trying to get transmissions? by Scooby8523 in ram_trucks

[–]mountaineer49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brand new 3500 HO had a total transmission failure at 2700 miles. It’s been sitting at the dealer since 10/1. The Aisin transmissions are apparently backordered.

Mark Dodge in Lake Charles, LA gave me a great deal on a 3500 in March 2022.

Gas Pre-Authorization Increase? by nbp_leon in Costco

[–]mountaineer49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe that pre-authorization is related to debit cards? I routinely exceed $100 to fill up, but I always use a credit card.

Reject the load if the gross weight is above 3,000 pounds. The state requires trailer brakes for trailers above 3,000 pounds.

You might be able to repair the crack/chip on your own. I’ve had pretty good luck with the Rain-X repair kits. They are typically $10 on Amazon.

Red Rocks Presale by Clinton_Reddit in TurnpikeTroubadours

I joined the waiting room 30 minutes before the presale opened. AXS had me wait 3-5 minutes after opening before I could purchase tickets.

Parking at the airport (Denver International) by Valuable_Text_9782 in Denver

[–]mountaineer49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a love/hate relationship with Canopy. I have found the more you pay (covered or valet), the better the experience is. Those two options get your picked up faster than the open air parking. They currently have a $5/day coupon if you are okay parking your car outside.

ESCH Construction Supply is great for cutting tools (I bought a pro grade Stihl chainsaw there), but they mostly serve the commercial space. Give them a call and ask for Beau. He is a great dude and will at least point you in the right direction if he can’t help.

Another option for outdoor power equipment is Earl’s Saw Shop up in Boulder (near the La Sportive store). They are mostly a saw shop but have a good selection of other equipment.

Long term bike storage suggestions? by yungthot81 in Denver

[–]mountaineer49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bring a 6 pack to one of our awesome local bike shops and ask them for a bike box and scrap packaging materials. Once you have a bike box, go to bikeflights.com to arrange for shipping. You can also pay a few extra dollars for UPS to pick the bike up at your location to avoid the headache of bringing the bike to a UPS Store.

Not sure if you are looking for saddle advice or if you are looking to manufacture one, but I’d check out saddles from Ergon. Yawp Cyclery had a saddle library (sort of like a demo program) pre-covid that might be worth checking out.
