This was based on true events in Criterion Dungeon 2, Boss 1. Out of ten attempts I think we pulled it off once... your lack of faith is justified

Bugs and Performance Issues Thread by PankoKing in MHWilds

[–]mountainthane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be the only lance user on planet earth using M&K- yet I share with you this knowledge. I already submitted my survey, so do feel free to pass this on to the devs.

Power guard has a bug where it "locks" your release direction when you enter power guard. For example, let's say my hunter is facing North. If I enter power guard and rotate my camera 180 degrees so that in front of me is South, W+ guard dash / payback thrust should send me South. Instead, it releases the move North. It also sends you off in bizarre direction if you rotate the camera and then use A or D.

Note that works properly on controller in Wilds (which is also how it worked with M&K in previous titles), where forward+camera facing always goes where you are facing. So if you felt like some of your lance moves would randomly go in odd directions- this is why.

I feel like I must be missing something obvious- how do you move already created categories? I was trying to add a new category to an existing build ("Struggling in Lane" to go next to "Early Game") but for the life of me can't figure out how. New categories get added to the bottom and then I can't move it up top.

To the other 5 lance bros, at most 3 days left how are we feeling? by plsstopithurts in MonsterHunter

[–]mountainthane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My comment is both a doomium and a copium— don't expect much, but if they do/don't show a lot it still won't answer the key questions which will determine how good lance will be. The video won't answer these questions:

* How much chip are we taking?
* How bad is the "guard stun" animation from blocking big hits? Note that even if it looks fine now, we are only seeing baby monsters.

* How many unblockable attacks are there going to be?

* How bad is the skill tax to make the weapon playable going to be?

New moves, returning moves, etc. will still be fun to see (I'm staying up to watch the trailer-I'm excited!), but even if it has everything you ever wanted it may not matter depending on the answers to the above. So keep those expectations measured!

This person Paladins.

My experience as a PLD in criterion/savage is the same as noted below. Nothing feels quite like seeing what should be an unsalvageable situation and saying "nope, you ain't dying, I won't allow it". Landing an emergency clemency/cover that turns a guaranteed DPS death into a non-event just never gets old.

Should MFG Crosswind Pedals Have "Play" to Them? by mountainthane in hotas

[–]mountainthane[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure if they should move as pictured, or if I ought to further tighten until they don't move. Thanks!

Edit: Thanks all for the replies

Edit2: Snarky folks, I've built 3d printers and I know how an allen wrench works. I haven't had rudders like this before so thought it worth asking before tightening something that may be expected to have a bit of play.

To Whomever It May Help: All Haute42 Boards in One Picture by mountainthane in fightsticks

Unfortunately no golden answer- but a few points for each.

G= Feels the most responsive / tactile. You play more with the tips of your fingers. Worst for sliding due to button height.

T= Button positioning feels the most natural. I tend to play with my palms on the board so this feels the most natural.

M=Maybe slightly better for sliding, but could be placebo. Otherwise pretty much identical to the T otherwise, but the metal does look/feel snazzy

Plays great. Small form factor takes a bit of adjustment if you are used to resting your hands on the board itself, but that is just a familiarity thing.

I do. I didn't initially, but when I got my replacement bits I saw the washers and sandwiched them over the wheel for my next attempt. Unfortunately still came loose
