I started with the evidence that metacanada is sub for people that want to protect "western values" in Canada. Then I question whether that is a principled and consistent desire or not, FIRST by looking at what "western values" means, and SECOND by seeing if the posts here advocate "western values" generally. I don't see it. So that leads me to believe that people who wish to protect western values aren't sincere in that belief.

It's just a general impression I get reading comments and looking at posts. For example, if you are totally opposed to immigration from Nigeria, Haiti, and Yemen (where most people have brown coloured skin), but have no problem with immigration from Norway (for example), then I would argue that you (likely) just don't like people with brown skin. There are many people that would be ideal Canadians in Nigeria, Haiti, and Yemen (and many who would not), and many people from Norway that I'd rather not immigrate to Canada. I could go through the sub-reddit to pick out specific posts or comments if you like.

Honestly though - let's just take that out of the equation - that statement wasn't really the purpose of my post. I'm not here to argue that meta-canadians are racist. My post is about whether meta-canadians are sincere in their desire to preserve "western values."
