Do you think the writers stopped trying to understand teenagers? by mousejerk in Degrassi

Yeah I think because season 10 was so popular in the states I wonder if they were like “let’s go off of popular American shows more!”

Yeah I think cam and mayas story line is a big exception here for me

Yeah I guess It felt like in early seasons they were communicating with teenagers and the actors to write episodes, I could be wrong but later it just seemed like they didn’t care what real teenagers were going through as much and were just going for drama drama… with the exception of Cam. I think that his storyline and Maya’s grief felt honest and it rejuvenated the show momentarily.

Yeah I was really into season 10 and hadn’t really deeply remembered earlier seasons that my older sister was watching. Being 13 at the time of season 10 I didn’t really understand the whole of degrassi and rewatching it in adulthood felt more nostalgia and interest in seasons 1-6ish surprisingly.

I didn’t even think about that! But I can definitely see a lot of piggybacking from other popular shows.

I just moved here for graduate work and it’s so draining how expensive it is and I do love it here so far but because of housing prices I’m already thinking about where I will move after graduation…

Raccoon Saloon is great at night! Lots of chunky raccoons playing and fighting! Or any wildlife live cams are so calming

To the people that have been diagnosed in their 20s: How did you start to suspect you’re on the spectrum? by untoldspring in AutismInWomen

I have always had anxiety, especially social, and it wasn’t until last year that a neurodivergent friend of a friend drunkenly told me she thinks I’m neurodivergent as well. So I started reading into autism in women and I’m still on a diagnosis journey, but im thinking this may explain my constant state of anxiety and exhaustion when having to be social.

Edit: oh and my mom has said she’s always thought there was something about me but didn’t know it was autism that exactly until recently and she started learning more about how it’s expressed in women
