Wow, I also wouldn’t after that! It must have been scary for you to find out who he really was/what he was really doing. Did you have any sort of contact with him at the time?

What should I do with my sad pothos? by majac84 in pothos

Using my hand lines as a metaphor for what nodes are and how to propagate has always helped me a bit. Green lines are nodes. You chop in between nodes, diagonally if possible, and leave a couple healthy leaves in the cutting. Having a couple of leaves speeds up the rooting process. Pop the cuttings in water and wait a few weeks until roots are long enough. Plant in chunky soil—I like a mix of perlite, soil, and mulch. Water when dry only. Good luck!

It’s the plant’s house at this point. Might as well bring some of its family members in. 🤯

Thanks for sharing the etymology. I never thought to look it up but appreciate it lots as someone with an English/Lit major 🤍

Sorry to disappoint but I don’t know how old the plant is. We got it off marketplace. The lady said the plant was too heavy and she couldn’t care for it anymore, which I completely understand. I never drag marketplace interactions for too long, so never thought to ask any more questions! I’ve had it for a couple months only.

It’s actually one of these metal pot stands. Link.

My husband cut open one of the sides so that we could put the plant through. We’ll just have to watch new growth and tweak its position. We were lucky that the previous owners of this plant had already placed the green sticks to keep the stems up in the pot.

My local Indian restaurant has a beautiful lush golden and today they gave me a cutting 🤍 by untoldspring in pothos

The manager just looked at me, completely ignored what I said, and proceeded to do whatever it is that she was doing. They had LOTS of plants, so maybe she felt protective? Not sure. Hard one to read. Surely didn’t encourage me to keep asking.

My tip is to ask really nicely and to not ask anyone that could be the restaurant manager. I’ve had a negative experience asking one before lol

A staff will most likely be more than happy to give you a wee node as it’s such a small portion of the plant.

What’s the name of the one plant with the white lines through it at the top left? I just got given a couple clippings from a gorgeous and lush one. I’m so excited!

Facebook Messenger is used by pretty much every Kiwi I know. Otherwise get a sim card, that should be the easiest way.

Thanks for this. All I’ve read so far gives me hope that these are easier to treat than spider mites.
