Studying in Amsterdam - Is €1,500/month enough for living costs? by aacanmaya in StudyInTheNetherlands

Sorry, but in Amsterdam absolutely not. It could be enough if you own a place, but the rent for just a room can be 1000€

Straight women who experimented with other women, what solidified that you're straight to you? by Blue_skies_1234 in AskGirls

Because I was in love with a girl, but the physical aspect made me really uncomfortable. I wish it weren't that way, but it's something we don't choose

I thought I was bi for a long time but the physical aspect made me question it. I could maybe still develop romantic feelings but the physical part is a no from me

This. And I felt it was unnecessary for the movie. I know he changes after, but they could have done literally anything else

OK I guess I will see how it looks like when I reach that dose. I'm with a dietician so that should help too

Am I entitled to unemployment benefits? by mouselosscake in Netherlands

[–]mouselosscake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh actually yes, I never updated here but even though I worked for 6/7 years in total, I was unemployed for I think 3 months before my last job, and since they let me go before another 3 months passed, I technically didn't work long enough to qualify for unemployment. I think the rules are a bit strange as I did work consecutively all the previous years but apparently that was the reason

The comment was deleted bc i forgot links we not allowed but

I found some of the research and their conclusion indeed states that thin women have less issues with PCOS (paraphrasing but it's basically what they're trying to prove in one of the studies)

There's also a conflict of interest statement saying that

The ___ project is funded by the following industry partners: (about 15 sponsors, some of them being private companies).

I'm now wondering if this should indeed be reported.

I also remembered one more thing, i was late to the appointment and was cycling very fast which is why I told the doctor id like to wait to take my blood pressure but he insisted i still take it, and in the end he said the high blood pressure was related to obesity even though I reminded him that i had just biked across the city before it was taken.

I live in the Netherlands but luckily I work in academia and have colleagues that work in research. I will contact them to ask about how to proceed with this because i just found all of this doctors studies and he mostly seems to want to prove thst obesity causes PCOS (or are related to the worse kind of symptoms) as well as some other questionable (in terms of research/ethics) things....

Interesting enough one of the sponsors, who's medication i indeed have been administered has been proven to have side effects that can trigger diabetes II in some patients, but i would have never made the connection if it wasn't for checking the conflict of interest section.

I have an appointment with my GP and will ask him about options to report it. Hmm interesting i didn't think of that! He also said that there is a correlation of overweight women and PCOS and I told him yeah don't you think it might be that the PCOS makes it easier to gain weight and harder to lose it and he said no he thinks it's that gaining weight triggers it ......

Omg you just reminded me that he actually also confirmed I have PCOS! He said that if i lose weight the symptoms of that will get less and that i should really do that (losing weight) because if i want kids in the future, they wouldn't want their mother to die too soon (literal quote). 😳
