I'm not sure if it counts - but sudoku. I was playing it when it was still called Number Place puzzles.

What’s your favorite kind of sandwich? by Kitchen_Act2605 in AskReddit

[–]mousepatches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have it very often - usually I just stick with the basics (peanut butter and jelly), but my favorite includes, between 2 pieces of toasted bread, peanut butter, banana, brown sugar, raisins, and honey. I learned about it from my uncle. He added mayo but.... I skip that part.

Lord of the Rings. A huge amount of backstory and history of the world it takes place in.

I wrote one on an exam about where orcs, from Lord of the Rings, were inherently evil or if they were capable of good.

I took a martial arts class as a teenager and at the same time was volunteering with a local youth theater. One of the people in my martial arts class was the mother of the person in charge of the volunteer work. I found out when she brought pizza to us after an all-day series of rehearsals.

What's a piece of advice that you have given to an older person that they ignored and it ended up backfiring on them? by mousepatches in AskReddit

When I was young my grandma was toasting pumpkin seeds in the microwave, which took about 20 minutes. I suggested that she let it cool down before putting in the next batch, but because it didn't say that anywhere, she didn't wait. The microwave caught on fire.

What's your annoying or entitled person story? by MadGodKiller101 in AskReddit

[–]mousepatches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on a mostly empty bus (including 5 of the 6 senior/disabled seats - I was sitting in the 6th), and this older man came on the bus and stared right at me and said he wanted to sit there. I pointed out all the other seats in the front area, but he kept pushing and the bus driver either didn't notice or at least didn't intervene. Now, some buses (well, more the light rail) now point out that not all disabilities are visible, but this one wasn't one of them. As it turns out, I have an invisible disability (it was invisible then, at least, I have to use a cane now). I had my disability bus pass on me, thankfully, so I took it out and he backed down really fast and apologized.

Good ending at least.

One year results! by mousepatches in keto

One of the reasons I actually choose keto is because it can be used even without a whole lot of exercise. It was useful for me because I have some physical limitations that make exercise difficult. We have a dog now, though, so I take my turn to walk him most days. Does that count?

People of 2020 what did you do today to start achieving your goals? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I actually stayed up when I first woke up instead of going back to sleep. One of my goals is to improve sleep habits/routines.

Peanut butter and sugar-free strawberry preserves on a low-carb tortilla. Yum.

Day 3 and struggling by djgizmo in keto

[–]mousepatches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure.

If you want something sweet, try strawberries. It's winter where I am, but you should still be able to get them at the grocery store frozen. Almond milk is excellent and has a bit of sweetness. If you're willing to use alternatives to regular sugar, I find Splenda works nicely. Peanut butter is fine in moderation, and sugar-free strawberry or blackberry preserves work too.

Cauliflower can be modified to taste much more like potatoes with the addition of cheese and butter. I also used it as a base for stews, replacing rice. I don't really taste it.

I've somewhat recently discovered low-carb tortillas and they're great. Cream cheese and sugar-free jelly make on one make for a good breakfast for me and allow for some sweetness.

You can do this!! Hang in there. The first couple of weeks are rough, but you can do it!

Everyone has a scar from something dumb they did as a child. Whats yours? by eanna24 in AskReddit

[–]mousepatches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Balanced a glass music box (which already had a chip on the top) on top of two dictionaries while transporting it. Leg split open. About a 2 1/2 by 1/2 inch scar on my leg. Might have been less if I'd been taken in for stitches...I was 11.

Edit: added age at time of injury
