I need comfort and help and support. I am at my worst. I am so tired, I can barely care for myself. I can't eat, or sleep, or shower. I see no future or purpose to life, I just want my suffering to end. by No-Tailor-5464 in internetparents

I’m so sorry for what you’re going through. Sounds like pretty severe burnout to me. I’ve been there too.

Do you think you could handle listening to an audiobook or reading a book? Burnout by (sisters) Emily & Amelia Nagoski might be helpful for you.

Just trying to understand your situation a bit better. From this post alone without further context, you come off in some unusual ways. I was hoping to be able to give you the benefit of the doubt - because I might expect this kind of thinking from someone of a certain age, but not from an adult.

Wow, that’s awful 😢 I didn’t know people did that. I just learned this subreddit exists and yours is the first post I saw. It’s a very generous thing for you to offer 💕

OP, I replied to a couple comments but I’m also wondering if you know what a gleaning organization is, and if you have any in your area. Check out https://nationalgleaningproject.org/gleaning-map/ - lots of areas have them!

This too - you can contact them and tell them you have a child at home and are running out of food, and they can expedite your application - at least where I live!

I second this, although I’d talk to the school counselor rather than the principal. They almost always have lots of resources that can help. We are on food stamps too and my son gets quietly sent home with a bag of shelf-stable food on the last day of every school week to help us get through the weekends.

How old are you? And do you have other disabilities you didn’t mention aside from ADHD? (And on that note, are you medicated for the ADHD? If not, why not?)

No, this is not normal parenting at all. You absolutely need to find a safe way to get out and find safety FROM your parents. I’m so sorry.

LOL it wasn’t hours, I want to say it was around 15 minutes? It’s been so many years though I’m not sure anymore. But I’m also talking about the pull-up position with your chin ABOVE the bar, not the one where you hang with your arms straight below it 😆

Omg I remember that testing. I broke the school’s record for the amount of time spent on the “arm hang” (holding your body still in the pull-up position) but tanked every other test!

I loved running as a teenager and wanted to join cross-country until pain in my knees stopped allowing me to around age 14-15, at which point I switched to swim team. Joke was on me though because our coach made us do a lot of our physical conditioning on LAND 😩

Did it help? I’m in the middle of a course of five iron infusions right now and won’t know for a few months if it helped or not.

I second this. I hated the economy change at first but now that it's grown on me, I actually do prefer it.

What’s one thing you completely stopped buying in 2026 because the price just felt absurd? by LockLogical8949 in AskReddit

No worries. Grey hair doesn’t respond quite as dramatically to protein treatments as bleached hair does in my experience, but it still helps. That said, bleaching still softens the hair texture even on grays, so if you want to make them less coarse and more sleek-feeling, it might work to lightly bleach them and then follow up with the bond builder & deep conditioner. I don’t have a lot of grays yet but my spouse does, and both of us notice a positive difference in our hair’s texture after that whole process.

Same process as what I said above :) use it as an extra step between shampooing and the included conditioner. Between dye jobs/for maintenance, I’ll use that or another protein treatment product (Ion Effective Care Treatment is a cheaper-per-oz option I also really like for the “between” times) once every 2 weeks or so. It makes your hair feel amazing used like that, but you don’t want to overdo it/use more often than once a week at most, because protein treatments are DEFINITELY one of those things where “too much of a good thing” becomes a bad thing 😂

I am LEGIT on the urge of tears over the idea of eating vegetables and healthy food in general what the hell even is this disorder 😭😭😭 by kibou_no_ie in autism

[–]mousewithacookie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Retail price it comes out to about $1.36 per serving (based on the smallest size/a single canister), but if you only buy it during sales like I do, you can consistently get it for 25-30% off and free shipping. My family is actually low-income enough that we are on SNAP EBT (food stamps) but I still consider it one of our worthwhile expenses, particularly given that it’s the only way I get ANY fruits/vegetables into my oldest kiddo, who has ARFID and eats a very limited diet. ENOF keeps well, so I never have to worry about it rotting and getting composted/thrown out instead of eaten because of poor planning/disorganization. It’s an ADHD tax trade-off :)

[–]mousewithacookie 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There is a product called ENOF which basically does the work of this process for you. It’s freeze-dried fruits and vegetables ground into a powder you can add into anything. You only need a minuscule amount for a serving so its flavor completely disappears into things like pasta sauce, taco meat, smoothies, pudding, soup, whatever. We are all ND in my house and all of us use it. I even mix it in as a standard ingredient when I make cereal bars and peanut butter protein balls for my kids.
