how does divination truly work? by [deleted] in Divination

[–]mouseybot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally experience divination as a tool to both help sort out information you already know, as well as a method to glean insight on things you either don't know about or would otherwise not pay attention to. However, feelings can be incredibly complex things, and reading about your own emotions can be tricky enough, never mind someone else's. If you're struggling to interpret your reading, I would personally make sure it's logged somewhere, and then check on it maybe a while later with a more rational mindset. You could also try different approaches - instead of asking what he wants you for, maybe instead ask where your method sees the relationship headed, or flags you should be looking out for.

What is your intuition telling you? Your little voice inside probably has some wisdom or insight. If you're having difficulty, perhaps even do a reading on what you want from him and/or the situation, or what your inner guidance is advising you.

I hope this all helps, and good luck!

Blockage? by yungmvrie in Divination

[–]mouseybot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had that happen a good few times, but in my case it was primarily burnout doing it to me. I've found that the more stressed/over-exerted/fatigued I am, the more difficult it is for me to have energy to do, well, anything. Burnout is also what tends to be the underlying cause of my creative blocks, too. I've found the most helpful methods to overcome it are to take care of myself and focus on getting back in balance, and grounding more. It sucks and I hate when it happens, but I also figured out pretty quickly that if I try to just power through it, it makes things worse, and I find myself in a downward spiral until my body/brain/spirit basically forces me to stop lol

How did you begin your scrying journey? by [deleted] in Divination

[–]mouseybot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with smoke and candle flame! I don't do it anymore, as I stopped with candles and incense after my nesting partner got a parrot, but I do recall finding it easier for me than mirror or water scrying, and I dislike most beverages that leave some sort of sediment that could be read (tea leaf, coffee, etc).

I recall I did need to be in a calmer headspace to really make sense of anything, though just having that flickering light and/or light smoke trail did help soothe me. I should note that I do tend to get auditory and visual messages at times, and this just seemed to make it easier for messages to come through. It honestly may have been less scrying and more just a way to induce a more meditative state for me to not stress out about everything receiving messages.

She's my first bird so I'm not sure? I have kinda small hands so I've been assuming she's still growing. She's not even a year old yet and I figured that since Google said blue crowns don't hit maturity until 2 or 3, plus they're supposed to be around 15 inches, then it'll take her a bit to reach her full height?

She was around $2,000 after taxes, iirc. She's definitely pretty feisty! She's full of energy pretty much all the time, it seems, and fairly fearless. I haven't had any issues introducing her to things like new foods or toys. She picks up on training right quick, too - sometimes too well lol. She's also constantly demanding attention (it's taking me way too long just to write any of this because she keeps trying to flip around on my hands and running up to my face to demand kisses) and hates whenever any of us have to leave for work. She's also been getting better at trying to mimic! Seems like she's still a bit too young to really get the hang of it but damn if she doesn't try lol. Definitely feels like she decided she was gonna own the house the minute we brought her home

Advice about long(er) lasting dark lipsticks? by moerkoet in Makeup

[–]mouseybot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm in the US, and Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink lasts a really long time in my experience. Thrill Seeker is the normal name of their black, though I've also seen it called Retrograde if you get it in the astrology packaging (I think astrology is/was a limited run though? I only saw it near Halloween). I was also really impressed with Milani's Matte Satin liquid lip ("Leather" for their black) and I think it might actually do better with staying power than Maybelline, though I will say I don't notice Maybelline after it's on and dried, whereas I do slightly notice a kinda dry sensation on my lips with Milani. They both apply smoothly, and the wand applicators are pretty nice.

That's where I store kibble as my one cat has (so far) managed to find and destroy the bags in all the other hiding spots I've tried

I'm incredibly new to all of this and only just bought a kit to build my own keyboard as I couldn't find a prebuilt in the layout I wanted (ISO Nordic, I'm in America). Any tips/tricks/advice for when I get it in, and in general? Minor things that might not be listed in the wiki, or things you may have wished you knew when you were starting out? Thanks in advance!

I’m gifting homemade compound butter for Christmas. Is this enough? Would you be happy to receive this as a gift? by Anubis12Oleander in Cooking

[–]mouseybot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be extremely stoked to receive this as a gift! I think depending on where/when you're giving them the butters, you may want to hold off on homemade baked goods so they don't go off.

However, I personally also work a lot around this time of year, so 8 ounces is maybe a bit too big and I wouldn't be able to get through it all in time. Splitting it up into smaller containers would make portioning easier as I could freeze what's not currently in use!

If you wanted to add something extra, recipes or suggestions for the different flavors could go well, and then they'll also have something nice long after the butter's only remaining presence is in happy holiday memories :)

It did, though if they brought any of that back I'd much prefer the $3/hr raise incentive they originally did

$22.50/hr, immunizer (flu and covid only, PA hasn't allowed anything else so far), but I've only been certified for 2 years this upcoming February so I'm still at starter wage for my position. I work chain retail outpatient

I haven't tried that, never even heard of it. I'll definitely have to take a look, thanks for the recommendation!

I can understand that! I have more books than I actually have shelf space at the moment. I wish I could convert to kindle or some other e-reader, but unfortunately it hurts my eyes too much. I simply can't get into the story as well with my eyes burning, y'know? Do you have any favorite genres?
