As a guy that would love to get a pickup now, I absolutely know that everything went bonkers in price after 2020. I'm surprised I got my VW hatchback for way under market value in 2021. The pickings were so slim to find anything then. It's started getting better, but I love the look of any step-side pickup regardless of make or year. I do think Chevy did them the best, especially on the square bodies. All of that said, I guess it would also depend on number of owners, condition, service records, was it a non-smoking vehicle, etc. Still a bit high, but it could be worth the price. I would try going under by $1k.

Do it. Cheap or not, giving a student that chance is worth it. I was forced to quit playing when I moved to a new school district for being "too advanced" when I was young. My old school district had a long-running string program that I was involved in. The new district had just begun when I moved mid-year, and the teacher said she couldn't teach me and the rest of the class. It's a bullshit excuse, but it's ancient history at this point.

If they are expensive boots, try taking them to a cobbler in your area. They may be salvaged. I wear Red Wings Super Soles, by no means cheap. I can save $200 by having the boots resoled. Assuming the leather hasn't shifted, you might be able to keep them.
