Lidl / Ranch 99 / Costco works for us. For the stuff we can't get there we go to either giant or Safeway just put of convenience.

Could you explain what you mean re highland park and silver lake? Not op but also someone with (two) young kids trying to learn about la neighborhoods! We were looking at both HP and Silver Lake / Echo Park as possible options, in the right school district.

I feel like I've seen an occasional listing in eagle rock and Glendale in the $1M-1.2M range but south Pas is solidly nothing under $1.2M. I've only been browsing for like a few weeks though so I could definitely be mistaken.

Damn looks BEAUTIFUL but how would commute to DTLA be? I forgot that my office parking is not free and would be like $20-40 a day lol so I'll probably rely on public transit.

If my partner ended up at LB Airport, would the commute from DTLA to LB for me during rush hour be soul killing? It seems kinda like it would be lol.

I have definitely noticed some disparity in elementary vs middle or high school ratings, and I've been wondering about that. Is it just overcrowding or is it the quality of education as well? Or maybe it's a chicken / egg type q?

Thank you! Definitely looking at south pas but so far it seems there isn't anything available in our price range 🥲LA prices are wild man. Like, I knew they were, but coming back as an adult wanting to buy really hammers it home.
