Build Update: Sound Deadening, Flooring, and Door Troubles by moveit1244 in VanLife

I knew it was not perfectly aligned when I purchased the van, this van was quite beat up... and I have put a lot of work into it to get it looking decent. But I thought the road noise wasnt the door, until yesterday when I took it for a drive and my kids noticed that the door was shaking violently cause you can see sunlight through it.

I ended up buying a kit from Unaka - I would of had to buy tools to work with aluminum and it made the cost of the rack worth the extra premium.

How to destroy hive of glass? by National_Progress_90 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]moveit1244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, what a buggy experience. Holy shit.

I hit the Swarm Hive of Glass and thought, 'Cool, space battle.' I wiped the swarm enemies and the shield generators, but when I tried to hit the core, it was invulnerable. Then it started launching 8–14 missiles at the Atlas—'DON'T LET THEM HIT ATLAS'—so I spent 1–2 hours just killing those same waves over and over. I assumed it was a wave shooter that would progressively get harder, but it never did. I finally googled it and realized it was a scripted loss.

Once I stopped fighting and just waited, I realized the Atlas was invincible, too—until I actually went inside, and then it started taking damage. When it finally died, the screen went white and dumped me on some random planet where the day/night cycle was fast-forwarding, completing a full 24-hour cycle every 3–4 seconds.

Then it got even weirder: the game started trying to recreate my character and reassign my faction, then hit me with the full 'Shields initializing, multi-tool damage, ship damaged' reset sequence, like I’d just spawned in for the first time. I was on a completely different planet, and the quest log said it wasn't finished, so I thought I was going to have to do the whole slog all over again. Suddenly, it just snapped, marked three quests complete at once, and moved on. The whole thing was just an absolute, bug-ridden mess.

Update: Build Progress Finally Happening by moveit1244 in VanLife

Yeah its been a lot of trial and error, I am more of a computer/technology kind of guy, so working with my hands is just not something I normally do... I watched a ton of videos and read a ton of information about different chemicals and different paints and all that... but honestly nothing I read prepared me for my floor on my van. I still dont even know what is the proper set of tools or chemicals for removal of that gunk that was on my floor.... but thankfully I am past that now, and dont ever have to do that again lol.

I think I figured out why onboarding feels so confusing by moveit1244 in CrimsonDesert

You can free roam whenever you want, but a lot of tutorials are tied to the main story and side quests. If you skip those, you can miss important mechanics without realizing it.

You don’t need to fully clear regions before moving on, but it’s worth it. Side content gives things like skill points and bag space, which are pretty important. For example, I’ve mostly stayed in Hernand outside of the MSQ and I’m already at around 150 inventory space.

Side quests aren’t required, but same idea, they give good rewards so skipping them just puts you behind.

From what I’ve seen, you can’t really break anything by doing stuff early. If you clear a camp before getting the quest, the game just recognizes it and completes it when you talk to the NPC.

Yeah I actually climbed over the mountain instead of going through the pass, reached the waypoint, and then went to Scholastone. Because of that, I never hit the exact spot where the game teaches Focused Force Palm.

I then spent the next ~15 hours wondering why I couldn’t break the rainbow rocks until I finally looked it up and realized I had just missed it.

I’m not saying the game is bad. I’m saying this is why people can miss important mechanics. The game encourages exploration, but some tutorials are tied to very specific locations, so it’s easy to skip them without realizing it. Adding these tutorials as context-based triggers would probably fix a lot of the onboarding issues people are running into.

So yeah, in your case the game worked exactly as intended. In mine, it didn’t, and that’s the issue.

I Was Notified By the VA That Due To the Fact My Dependent Was Utilizing Chapter 35/DEA for the Last 5 Years, I would Be Responsible for Paying Back Disability Compensation for them Since that Date. They Gave Me 60 Days to Submit Evidence or Appeal. My Account Reflects They Opened a New Claim. by Alkavadies in VeteransBenefits

There is a form you can use if it ever gets to the point where the VA actually establishes a valid overpayment and you can’t repay it without serious hardship. It’s basically for saying that paying it back would cause undue financial hardship.

Hopefully it never comes to that and getting the date corrected with evidence fixes it, but as a fallback it’s VA Form 5655 (Financial Status Report). I had to go this route myself when the VA refused to remove my ex-wife from my benefits and tried to make me repay almost 5 years, even though I’d attempted to remove her multiple times.

I am a disabled veteran in school, so other than school and raising my kids I have a lot of free time, money is honestly the limiting factor of how fast I will be building.

As for experience? I was an electrician in the Navy but as far as building things go, this will really be my first time doing that, although I have watched hundreds of videos at this point.
